I thought the episode was awesome , Dany's part was probably my favourite.

I thought so too, it had great dialogue and intrigue, which is why I was first drawn into the show. I think the scene where Tyrion starts to unravel what might have happened with Pod was my favourite, with Tywin teaching Tommen a close second. I loved how Tywin opened up to Tommen about his thoughts on Joffrey in front of Cersei.

Is it just me or is Dany a little bit too great white hope-y

Don't get me wrong, I love her character and the message she brings but it is kind off that everything seems to go her way and isn't in keeping with the rest of the show

Like she walks into a city and frees all these slaves all like cos I have dragons *yawn*

I've gone right off Dany tbh, her biblical speeches are starting to grate on me. I think it provides a bit of balance as far as the show goes in terms of her having things go her own way for a while. Whilst to counter that, you have Theon where nothing is going right for him.

I agree. I find her and Brans scenes pretty boring.. i think that unlike the other characters Dany isn't really progressing much, she so far away from the rest of the action and its getting a bit repetitive.. especially her need to do an annoying speech every episode

Even in the books I found that the chapters from her perspective began to become a bit tiresome

Dany's is very much the long journey story though I'd say. When it comes to the series there needs to be stories where the viewer can relax a little from the tension and everything else. At the moment, Dany provides that. Bran on the other hand has had one of the most intriguing scenes this year for me with the vision from the tree

i agree i think it has spoiled the dynamic between them.

The book dynamic was basically that once he had come back things weren't the same and there is that kind of tension between them, but that's not the same as being raped, that is going to make a mortal enemy out of the rapist.

Cersei is a vengeful and powerful woman and the logical conclusion of this twist to the storyline is that jaime will suffer some kind of violent comeuppance at the hands of cersei, because realistically is cersei the type to take that without vengeance?

Violent aggressive sex whilst there was clear tension in the air between them would have worked, with them ****ing each others brains out in anger but not a situation which is all about his power over her, it just changes it too much.

I get irritated by deviations from the book plot but can handle ones that bring a new and interesting plotline like arya being tywin's cup bearer and so on but jaime raping cersei....gtfo.

I wonder whether this was done just to try and create controversy to boost the ratings, in which case i think its a bit sick tbh. At the end of the day game of thrones is an entertainment show. I know its a fictional story and there are murders and all sorts of crimes in it but there's an element of suspending belief when it comes to seeing people in a fantasy land with dragons in getting murdered in gory ways....but showing a realistic scene of a man forcing himself on a woman is a bit close to home and disturbing for people that watch it that may have been victims of sexual violence. Yes there are rapes in the books but you can easily suggest to viewers that rape has happened without actually showing the scene. To put a full rape scene in that isn't in the book into an entertainment show is basically violent porn.

I actually thought the scene between Jaime/Cersei played out very well. I was just starting to look at the Kingslayer as a sympathetic character (at least in recent weeks) and that's just turned everything on it's head!

Regarding the wedding:

jamie lannister is a hero and such a badass man, cersei is a grade A c**t lol, jamie saved the entire population of kings landing (half a million)
Jaime telling Tommen he'll take care of him... Jaime no offence. You have an awful track record when it comes to protecting kings.

 That end!

Things moved very slowly all over but that episode was literally just a treat for book readers, it was like a deleted scenes kinda thing tying up stuff that people have been wondering about for a decade :h:

I haven't read the books but know quite a lot of major spoilers and that episode is literally one of my favourite episodes of the entire series! I love that it's deviating a bit from the canon established in the books and explaining things that were a bit up in the air in the books. That ending was soooooo good! I need the next episode now!!

Hehehe I've read all the books, so to be sitting there with an  Face on was quite a nice change. That bit at the end would've had everyone who's been reading them eyes wide as saucers :h:
