Re: "Game of Thrones" HBODidn't really get that sense here TBH. The only character I would pin down as evil at this point is Viserys (Harry Lloyd) - I mean prostituting your sister is low, man.(Original post by Phalanges)
I'm a bit disappointed by how cartoonishly good and evil everyone is becoming. -

Nice little episode that one. Great acting from Headey.
What was/is your MA like, yo?
I doubt I'll stay at Leicester if I do one (been looking into going to Norway perhaps) but still, it'd be good to know. ;o
Mostly interested in the near/middle east which sadly gets lost beneath all the Greco-Roman shenanigans in most undergraduate courses. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
I watched the first two episodes yesterday. Some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired but I enjoyed the show a lot. I'm still a bit confused as to who is related to who, but I'm sure that will become clearer in future episodes. I actually got the book for Christmas but haven't gotten around to reading it yet >.<

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
I watched the first episode but not the second yet. The plot looks interesting, I love Sean Bean... but did it really need to be so graphic?
I don't count myself as a prude but it was a bit much! If the second episode is along the same kinda lines, I'll probably just give up.

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOI would contest this, but I'm actually in the middle of watching X-Men cartoons right now(Original post by Rant)
Stick to kids tv.
Seriously though, I've generally got no problem with sex on tv, I just didn't expect to have boobs in my face every five minutes or so (probably because I haven't read the book!) and to me, it seemed somewhat gratuitous. Yes, yes, her brother is pimping her out, but did we need her to be undressed and felt up by her brother, dressed in see-through clothing through most of it, watching writhing naked people at her wedding AND see her with her husband on the wedding night for that point to have been made? In fact just the line about 40,000 dudes and their horses shagging her would have made it explicitly clear. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOSlightly off topic but I got an erection looking at the picture of Emma Watson blowing me a kiss...(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)
This is going to be brilliant, and the reviews I've read have been raving about it.
On a related note, who is looking forward to the A Dance with Dragons? It took forever.
Also, when does the next episode show? -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOYeah, all that stuff was very prominent in the book, it was probably the best way to capture the essence of the early chapters by focusing on that stuff.(Original post by riotgrrl)

Wish i had a wolf for a pet

When will they do that or have they already started?(Original post by Fission_Mailed)
Damn, I thought I had weaned myself off TV, but now this is on and FX is re-airing The Wire.

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOTo be fair there is a lot of sex in the books and this T.V adaptation is relating re-markedly well to the book.(Original post by riotgrrl)

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
What I find amazing is that STILL people make a big deal out of the nudity/sex.
Not the violence.
It's in the books, which aren't kids books, so it's in the show, which similarly is not aimed at kids.
I've seen many people, somewhat ridiculously, comparing the show to porn. I wouldn't even make that comparison for a show like Spartacus which has far more sex and nudity. And OTT violence.
And annoying slow mo.
