Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOWhich makes sense if it was like, one person, a couple of times. But seriously, every male character is incapable of discussing his past unless there's hookers around. I know it's been pointed out a load of times so I kind of thought it would die down in season 2 but apparantly not! It seriously cracks me up, I see boobs and I think exposition now.(Original post by Mess.)
I imagine it is just a way for exposition to take place, also as an expression of vulnerability and being an egotistical and vain idiot.Last edited by riotgrrl; 15-04-2012 at 02:44. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOMy mum watches it with me (Me my mum, my dad, my brother and my sister all watch it)(Original post by pnorm)
Same, luckily for me she hasn't walked in during a sex scene yet.
Needless to say the sex scenes are awkward.Last edited by scotttb; 15-04-2012 at 17:38. Reason: Yolo -

The animosity between Varys and Tyrion was also unexpected. I can remember Tyrion mistrusting Varys, but I can't recall them actually threatening each other. Although I suppose they had to include it to show the mistrust.
Asha and Theon's encounter seemed a bit rushed.
[/spoiler]
Spoiler:ShowI thought that scene was a bit silly. Varys in the books would never have been stupid enough to threaten one of the most powerful people in kings landing (Same with Littlefinger.)
And yeah i agree with the Asha Theon thing it was so much more epic/weird in the books -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOI think that overemphasising distrust/dislike/general animosity is going to become a recurring theme for revealing the different characters' feelings for one another since it can't be explored as fully as it could in the books. As long as they don't start making it obvious where it should be concealed I don't have too many issues with it.(Original post by scotttb)

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOSo do the kids do the commentary for the whole episode on the DVD? If so, what happens during the sex scenes?

So far this series, I've been very irritated by the changes from the books, especially all these scenes in Littlefinger's brothel! I'm not a prude, but are these scenes showing random people in the brothel ****ing every episode really necessary? I would rather they didn't add all these invented scenes and instead go into more detail in the Stannis scenes - he is such an interesting character in the books but I've been disappointed with the Dragonstone parts of the series so far. I also thought that the Stannis/Melisandre sex scene was unnecessary. If I remember correctly, Melisandre thinks in her chapter in A Dance with Dragons that her bed has been cold since Stannis hasn't been sleeping in it - which is the only implication that they're having an affair, but in the TV series they show this straight away, which I think undermines the perception of Stannis which the audience should have - one of a just man. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
This episode was probably my favourite this season. The changes last episode irritated me a bit (especially the Littlefinger-brothel bit which just seemed a bit pointless and heavy-handed with the whole "Littlefinger is a creep" thing. I think less is more with his character and he doesn't seem half as dangerous as he does in the books but ah well) but I feel like the pacing in this episode was good throughout and the changes that they do make are good and completely understandable for the medium. Also, no Ros!

. Their commentary was actually pretty good!
