Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOIt seems for now that it's gonna end up being a three-way battle between the Lannisters, Starks and Dragons.(Original post by TomDixie)
And ultimately the rightful King, obviously forgetting the Targaryens
I'm all for Stannis to be honest.
Stannis is my guy! I guess if he dies, Robert Baratheon's bastard son (that was chilling with Arya a few episodes ago) is the rightful King?
But really, I'd be happy with Stannis as King because he is a BEAST. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBONot really sure to be honest. Either Clash or Storm (both bits). Then it all starts going downhill...(Original post by amg_22)
What's everyone's favourite book of the series??

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOHaha I reckon the green glow of the wildfire was more epic; GoT 1-0 LotR(Original post by ALazyThracian)
I like how the wildfire has the same green glow as the Dead Men of Dunharrow (Ghost army) Made from the same epicness?

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOSo if Stannis is killed, Joffrey is a rightful King?(Original post by Norton1)
Gendry? Nah, as someone said above bastards can't inherit. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOJoffrey is a bastard so no. (that's what Stannis' entire claim rests on)(Original post by Kenan and Kel)
So if Stannis is killed, Joffrey is a rightful King?
If we want to be pedantic there is a rightful Queen in the form of Daenerys. If it's assumed that Joffrey and his siblings are gone along with all the Baratheons then no one has any greater claim than anyone else.Last edited by Norton1; 31-05-2012 at 01:10. -

Forget being a bastard, Stannis claims that Joffrey isn't related to Robert at all.(Original post by Norton1)
Joffrey is a bastard so no. (that's what Stannis' entire claim rests on)
With Robert's 'children' (Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen) gone, it goes to his brother Stannis, and then Stannis' children (haven't met Shireen yet). After that I imagine it'd be a free for all since you'd be putting a bastard/potential imposter on the throne and due to the instability you'd get an even bigger war. Daenerys has no right because of the death of house Baratheon, her right comes from being the last known surviving Targaryen in line prior to Robert beating Aerys. If we want to be pedantic there is a rightful Queen in the form of Daenerys. Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOJoffrey is referred to as a bastard multiple times. Jaime and Cersei's bastard. ('bastard born of incest' is - I think - the phrase that is used)(Original post by Hopple)

I maybe didn't phrase it well but I meant that Daenerys is rightful queen despite what goes on in Westeros.
Also, if Daenerys, Lannisters and Baratheons are taken out you have to imagine the Tyrrel's would take the throne.Last edited by Norton1; 31-05-2012 at 02:01. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBONo Tommen would be dead meat because:(Original post by Hopple)
In that case he's dead anyway, no need to poison him
But Stannis would kill Joffrey for posing as king, and killing all his brother's children (he's also got to hunt down Myrcella) to become king isn't something in his character and actually likely to push away any support he might have. Plus, Tommen's a good way to ensure the Lannisters' support if he didn't want the money
1. He is a bastard born of incest and the Lord of Light requires that such people burn.
2. He is a threat to Stannis' claim as King for as long as he lived.
Cersei was going to poison him because she didn't want him to die at the hands of Stannis, it makes perfect sense. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOHe is a bastard, but the fact that Joffrey isn't related to Robert at all is the real reason he can't be king. Stannis puts it all out there in order to be more credible - he can't just say "Joffrey isn't Robert's", better to detail it with "Joffrey is Jaime's son, look what a disgusting incestuous abomination those Lannisters caused, help me beat the crap out of them! Oh, and did I mention that makes Joffrey a bastard too? RAAAAAGE!"(Original post by Norton1)

Bear in mind the Lannisters were hunting down Robert's bastards because they might have a claim that people against the Lannisters could rally behind.
Yeah, Daenerys has the 'right', though it's messy

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO1. Really? I don't remember Stannis running around burning bastards. Heck, half his army are probably bastards.(Original post by Some random guy)
No Tommen would be dead meat because:

2. Not if he convinces the people who matter that Tommen isn't Robert's son. And let's face it, that isn't difficult, though their loyalties may stay with the Lannisters (but that would happen anyway). -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO1. It will happen later, if you've read the books then you'd know.(Original post by Hopple)

Indeed, but killing Tommen won't stop those who would have supported him anyway. If anything, they'll be extra pissed that 'their' king was killed. Stannis would have kept Tommen hostage to ensure Tywin behaved, though perhaps Cersei would rather he be dead than that2. He has no proof and not everyone would believe him. People who favour Tommen will support Tommen regardless.
