It's ok now, got the DarkAnime subbed one instead. Anyways, like Rock Lee and Naruto, I really hate Sasuke now. Yea, I know he's the no.1 Genin in Konoha at the moment and he is an Uchiha but it's not fair for Kakashi to dedicate all his training on him. If only Sasuke Chidori-ed Gaara a bit later on, he would have been so dead. Naruto's Demon Fox would kill him easily anyways so I'm not too disappointed. I do feel sorry for Rock Lee though. It's like he was robbed of his Taijutsu and it's so not fair that all the training he did for years was done by Sasuke in just one month! Anyways, the attack on Konoha has started now and I can't wait for it!

Yeah, I had very similar feelings after I saw the episode.
I used to like Sasuke a lot, but way he has ripped off Lee's hard work annoys me -I really like Lee, and it's such a shame he's in his current state.
Sasuke is obviously very talented to be able to master that and the chidori, however I think he needs to have a new, effective and original move or his own! -Better than or an improvement of his fire blowing jutsu.
Anyway, at the moment, I really want Naruto to knock Sasuke down a peg or two- well, I just want them to see and appreciate how much he has progressed- and their faces when he, assuming he will, summon Gamma (presumably to fight the giant snakes they've conjoured (44:09), although perhaps when fighting others aswell)
I've been looking forward to the coming battle for weeks, so nearly there now. I can't wait to see how everyone fights. Though how long will it take for them all to rouse? And who managad to stay conscious?
Anyway, I think we're going to see the results of Shino's training soon. Should be interesting. And there's all the others, though Sakura may well be one of the first to do something as she's still conscious- though she's frankly a bit lame, so maybe she'll just be responsible for getting the others up. Looks like they've got enough enemies to keep Konoha's genin, chuunin, juunin and anbu occupied. It's going to be good. *gets excited*

I got given the first DVD of RahXephon for Christmas and am considering whether to get more. How many episodes are there in total?
I'd quite like to know how the plot progresses, though it certainly isn't on par with some of the other series I'm watching- though as I say, it'd be interesting to see how it progresses.
Am also just buying Hellsing at the moment- have no got and seen the first 3 DVDs -9 eps and am enjoying it. The next one wont be released for a while yet but I'm looking forward to getting it.
Fruits Basket was the origin of my current anime obsession- it's the first (non-Americanised/televised) anime I ever saw (or did I see some of Azumanga Diaoh first? (well, FB was the first whole proper series I watched anyway)), and I still love it (along with all the tasty anime men within!) Ah, class. Though it's licensed now, and I happened to hear a few lines of the dubs for it and cringed, though I suppose that's the same reaction I have to all the dubbing I here of much loved animes and characters. Leave it in Japanese damn you!

Yea! AnimePop anime sucks because it's dubbed by stupid Americans! Normal Japanese voices with English subtitles are so much better. You get to understand what they are saying but with still all that authenticy present. For example, when two fighters are squaring up to each other and calling each other names etc...., it sounds so much better in Japanese than English.

    I very much agree.

Dubbing takes a lot away from an anime in my opinion. I love the sound of Japanese, and to get used to their voices and tones and then have them exchanged for some whiney accent is very corrupting to the characters. Also the words and phrases themselves are changed to suit the American audience, which again makes a huge difference in my opinion. When I bought the FMP DVD a while ago I was really horrified, especially with what they did to Kurz. Arg!
Not only the actual changes to the characters though, I love listening to the Japanese, and I'm learning as I go, you get to appreciate different levels/uses or words and language etc. You also appreciate it when they use snippets of other languages -or English phrases etc. And that can sometimes be very amusing aswell.

Anyway, I could go on a large rant about it but for now I'm just going to go to bed...or do some work *thinks of pile that has to be done by Monday*.

    *sigh*

Be ye girl Egan? Well just seen the end of Chobits v. cute and i throughly enjoyed it. One question is does Chi enable PCs to feel emotions `.` that would be really interesting?
    Yes I'm female.

I saw Chobits some time ago, before it was licensed, so my details are a wee bit fuzzy. I don't really want to spoil it for any prospective viewers so if you're planning on watching the series don't keep reading...

...Firstly- remind me- when Chii comes back into herself at the end, do you get clips of all the Persocons with their eyes becoming coloured like humans? Or was that Chii's eyes? -or am I making somehing up in my head?!
I think at some point earlier on, the cool guy persocon (with his girl bot (the one that tries to exterminate Chii)) tells his female persocon to wait or something- he says something about whether this would change things for them or similar- I really am having trouble remembering the lines around it- this is just the very basic jist, and I can tell I am articulating myself very badly.

I think there is a change for the persecons- I really need a reminder...

    ...

I just tried to look up what happens and failed miserably- however I did discover two things, 1. -it said that there was some relation to Angelic Layer- has anyone seen both and can give details? and 2. -There's a Chobits OVA! I mussed have missed that one...hmmm...I may have to be wicked and find some way of getting it. -It might explain some things for you aswelll!

Sorry for the general unhelpfulness of this post -as I say, jog my memory as to the final events where she comes back. -I'm sure someone will have written about it online too...

    Blah, I'm off.

You are correct - the other PCs eyes do become coloured which is what led me to believe they can experience emotions tad disappointing that they did not show what happens next.... I believe their is an eps 25 26 which fills you in a bit more...

Ah rite.. RahXephon, it has 26 episodes split into 6 DVD's. The plot really progresses quickly from the 1st ep. Your in full flow around ep 10, but thats when it also gets very confusing :/ even though I am not much of a sci-fi fan, I enjoy this one. Some or most say it's an Evangelion clone, and if so there is something about this anime that I like it much more than Evangelion. and for all those who are not absolutely against mecha, this anime is really enjoyable (in fact it's a MUST). it's my prefered anime, even before NGE (maybe because NGE has a most disturbing ending) but really.. the story is just too damn confusing. Even though i could understand so little about it I really enjoyed it.. the Animation is excellent and the characters are really strong too, one of the best things of this series.

    What is NGE?

Oh, Neon Genesis Evangelion? I haven't seen it, but heard of it.

    ---

I might get the next RahXephon DVD later on depending on what else we're buying.

-I'll probably rewatch it first and remind myself of the details.

    Oh dear...

    *bursts out laughing*

Anyone else seen 'Konoha Ninja Studios' fan-dubbing of Naruto?

Just watched it, with a reaction of mingled horror, cringing and laughter. Clearly an example of why voice-overs/dubbing of anime should not be allowed.

Some of the audio was terrible -though it was most likely done on basic home-recording equipment and they must've spent a lot of time on the 'project', but the voices/voice actors themselves! Arg! And the sound effects! Some of it was just so bad, though I suppose provided shuddering amusement.

They pronounced Naruto 'Nar-ruto' and ramen 'rar-men' but...gah! just the voices *cries*. I sinceerely hope that it doesn't get licensed [please!] -dubbing is just so wrong and I wouldn't expect the 'professional' voice actors to make it more acceptable.

Anyway, as I say, atleast it provided some amusement.

I need to watch the dubbed version on my Hellsing DVDs, which apparently are done by English voice actors- it'll be interesting to see whether the dubs will be any more acceptable when spoken in a British accent.
