Not much to discuss there. The mad does have some vaguely valid concerns, but he is clearly a lunatic.

On a lighter note, when I opened this thread I thought Robert A. Hall was going to be a funny anagram...

I wouldn't call him a lunatic, I would say he is a very concerned citizen with some genuine concerns there.

I think he makes a few good points and people speaking out like that is neccecsary often for honest opinions to be openly broadcast.

I would say this is a very interesting read.

Very concerned citizen? Concerned about what?

Ideologically, I agree with him but this man clearly lacks the knowledge and understanding of the issues to make the argument and him making a vitriolic attack on 'the Left' is pointless.

1. Obama wasn't put into office by 'latte liberals' - he got 53% of the popular vote. Which means the people voted for his and the Democratic Party's largely 'socialist' agenda.

2. The way he claims that the government are taking his money and 'giving it to people too lazy to earn it' is to be quite frank, stupid. Someone like him should really be able to recognise just how ridiculous such a statement is.

3. He fails to understand why Fannie May and Fraddie Mac were created and just labels them left wing initiatives to redistribute wealth. The CRA was designed to allow loaw to middle income families to get credit to buy houses or start businesses which would in turn boost the economy and take away the necessity for further 'spreading the wearth as he puts it. However, who benefited from this? Banks. Maybe these policies were misguided, but if you're going to attack them, take the right line instead of just spewing generic BS.

4. The last paragraph is beyond a joke really.

I wasn't the only one then:p:
I thought it was a good statement. It's well thought out and he went out on a limb in saying it. Most people don't have the cojones to say what they really think, especially if it is against popular opinion.

He deserves respect for having served in Vietnam, even if you don't agree with his politics.

He does make some good points anyway.
