You managed to fall asleep yet Steph? I turned up to a biochem lec this morn and at least 4 people were snoring away! Nothing like proteins when you're still drunk from the night before!! Oh and the joys of having to spend your saturday on a sneaky date with dyce and stryer and also do your washing and probably clean my ensuite and then maybe, maybe, get some sleep

Should be Bristol interviews on their way in about 2 weeks too! Who will be the lucky few that get an early offer
    Hiya,

When you say Bristol interviews in 2 weeks, do you mean an invite to an interview? Also, do you know if applicants for the prelim vet course inteview offers are sent at the same time?

Sorry to bamboozle you with questions! Tense time and all that

    Thank you.

In relation to the WES form, how would you total up hours for a place you've worked every saturday for three years? do you just take an estimate? e.g. 500+.

that's what i did. i knew how many hours i worked every week and roughly how many days/weeks i didn't work and guessed liked that

on another note, i'm majorly panicking right now. my school decided to take us on a week long residential trip last week so i've just lost a week off my 2 weeks for the notts questionnaire and now i'm really, really struggling to work out what to say

Omg, the Nottingham questionnaire. What a nightmare. What's everyone putting for the recent development in veterinary medicine. I wanted to put something about stem cell research, but i can't find anything recent :'(

Thanks for the reply Just really want to have something else to concentrate on and enjoy apart from work and getting drunk :P
Hi I know Mooseyboy has already replied but at RVC it seems to be slightly different a lot of the clubs in ULU are run by RVC 4th and 5th years as well as 3rd years who also run lots of rvc stuff. I do four sports a week all of them seem to have first to fifth years in them which is cool. Also loads of opportunities for competitions and stuff like last week I know there was hockey matches, canoe polo tournament at paddington and polo matches (as well as twice weekly possible training slots). Plus loads of clubs like every other week farm animal clinical club has lectures (often including fun praticals) and all the ulu stuff like I am currently working towards my sports and leisure scuba diver certificates. There is lots of work to do for vet med but I know lots of people who hae kept up several hobbies and sports all the way through

Went to my local mixed animal vets again for a second week this week. Really really quiet though - i think because of half term everyone is either on holiday or out for the day. So not much happened but I learnt about the vaccines and met everyone again which was really nice. I was nervous yesterday though as I always want to make myself useful. I don't want them thinking I'm a waste of space! Can't believe it's been a year since I was last there though! How time flies!

Yes I do have a question! Approximately how many people from Northern Ireland are given offers for VetMed at UCD and is it still random selection if you meet the minimum academic requirements?
Hi, well being from the North i've an interesting story. This year the points were 565 and i got 555 and got in....don't ask me how but i'm here and they didn't make a mistake believe me i checked. They take around 8/9 from the a level system every year and yes it is random. The only reason i'm here is someone from the a level system who got 565 didn't take their place and i got picked from the people who got 555 in a levels, maybe i was the only one (probably not) but i know another guy in the year above me and the same thing happened to him and he went to my school, coincidence maybe but it sure is strange.

What grades did you get into Dublin with? I'm applying down south too I'm studying 4 a-levels and is there any special criteria you need for Dublin like say an entrance exam?
I got an A* and three As, which wasn't actually enough but i'm here I got 555 points and needed 565, all i can assume happened was another a level applicant got 565 and didn't take their place then i was the chosen one from the next highest.
There is no entrance exam, you do not need to do the HPAT, i repeat do not do it....its only for medicine and medicine related professions....all i can say is focus on your UCAS unis first, if you get nothing from them like i did (not even an interview i might add) don't stress just get your head down work like crazy and get the best results you can they don't take work experience into account at all so its based just on your grades, i know that makes your a levels really stressful but if your born to be a vet you should work well under stress
If theres anything more you want to know just quote me again, same goes for anyone else applying to dublin

There's only ever one or two applicants on here for Dublin a year. Maybe they decided it wasn't worth putting it on the wiki this year?
Oh i know just a wee joke about leaving out us dublin folk

Nottingham... Questionnaire.... rocks quietly in corner by herself*
    OMW.
Has anyone applying from Liverpool had any sort of thing to fill in? My and my friend were discussing this, because we're both expecting one, but so far haven't recieved anything!

Liverpool send out a work experience questionnaire once you pass round one, which is grades. I got mine last year on the 9th of November
