Why do we have to show such respect to other people's religous beliefs? If I started to worship the gods of the ancient greeks, I'd be ridiculed, but I'd have just as much basis for this as any other religion.

Because they are old outdated religious views.

Its like saying.. "people would laugh at me if i thought the earth was flat" .. i mean, it was common though back in the day and everyone thought it, but times have changed and stuff.

Get with the times and become a Jedi.

What do you mean by respect, we're allowed to contest them under free speech. I think the main reason is that it's recognized many people like to have religious beliefs and so long as those beliefs don't cause any harm as a direct consequence of holding them I see no reason not to leave off. I don't believe in religion but I see no reason to start laying in to religious folk.

Because we respect their right to have the choice and freedom to believe and worship what they want. Would you prefer a society where this freedom was not universal?

And they became normal because if you repeat something over and over, after time a sense of normality is brough with it, regardless of how absurd it may be.

Their are people that are literally flying into building over deluded prehistoric outdated beliefs, killing innocent civilians with big smiles on their faces. Every single person on the planet with a religious believe is either an idiot/criminal are was born into it(parents are religious and its a tradition in the family, for example some of the top scientist of the united states are Christian). I said religious followers are an idiot/criminal because a large number of the American Christians are prison inmates are ex prison inmates.

There is also an argument suggesting that Christianity has kept civilization at bay and given the human race good basic morals to live their lives buy, for example the 10 commandments.

I wouldn't get two frustrated about religious folks wasting their one shot at life on false knowledge, because due to science in about 200 years religion will be just apart of our history but nothing else(it will not be practiced). :yep:
