Yes, but in my experience, international students do not especially want to be friends with British students and instead keep themselves to themselves.

You will get ignorant people, i hate to say it. BUT this is university, most people will actually be smart and mature, therefor they will be more than happy to talk to you and socialise with you.

There are also going to be lots of other international students to socalise with too :yep:

And as far as i know, most uni's have internation student societies which make things even better

You shouldnt worry about that, it will be fine.

Most of them quite like international students - you're most likely quite different and interesting!
Where are you from, btw?
depends...are you seasoned? Are you docile? are you civilized? If yes, then sure, we will want to get to know you.
Yeah most do, just as long as you try to socialise instead of isolating yourself.

Well I'm sure it's not always like that but I can only speak from my personal experience. For instance, in my first year in halls, there were two international students from China in my hall. We knocked on their door to say hi and invited them to come to dinner and socialise with us but they never once did and instead went around together.

I do understand it to a certain degree but think that they should have tried to interact with us a little more. Even if I tried to be nice to them such as smiling and waving when I saw them, I got nothing back from them whatsoever.

Since you will be a postgrad student, I can't say if the experience will be similar or not but what I will say is most British students will have no problem whatsoever with being friends with you.
