find an undergrad teaching course at uni which has a SEN module, or do a normal undergrad degree then do PGCE, I'm pretty sure that has SEN modules in it. Try and get work experience in SEN schools. You probably have to take a yr course to specialise or something. Good luck.
well i have been working in a special needs school as a temp class assistant
and i work in specia needs summer school and do bus escorting!

There are a couple of teaching universities which do a specialism in SEN although it's more to do with inclusion either way it doesn't matter as although these give you more experience with SEN it doesn't train you to be an SEN teacher (it does look good though). Either do a degree like this or a primary degree and get lots of experience in special needs schools to boost your CV/application when the time comes. Lots of teachers who work in SEN have ordinary teaching degrees.. at least from my experience.

Well, you seem to have special needs already, so providing you can get a teaching degree, you should be able to work with special needs no problem. :woo:

You won't be discriminated against if you have special needs.
