I really like the ones of the beach, with the focus set on the pebbles, makes me want my exams over now so I can go on holiday!

Re: Your photography website - flickr 0r facebook
I opened a flickr account almost exactly two years ago and changed it to a subscription one in the September. I am surprised at now many times people view photographs. However I will revert back to a standard account in September as after two years I see little value proposition in paying for an account. I do not even use it as a back up as TIFFS and edited RAW take too long to upload so I only upload more heavily compressed jpegs than I would generate normally for projection.

This does mean, that come September, I will have to choose my 200 best from the 1700 I have on there that is probably a useful exercise in its own right and should make for some interesting heart v head moments.

The best thing about 2 years on flickr are the contacts I have made. It is also nice to know that someone planning a day out has looked at one of your images to aid their decision, National Trust and English Heritage in particular as these organisations link their web sites to specific photos placed in the group pools. It is also nice to see the odd image on the BBC Nature or General News site. But none of the above are dependent upon paying for an account.

Worst thing about two years on flickr are the specialist lens and camera groups, of which about 10% of threads and posts are from folks who know what they are on about and have a personal insight and contribution to add, 20% are from the clueless, 20% from folks posturing in terms of making "standard" statements to appear "grown up" (these are adults I should add) with no actual personal insight or perspective and 50% are from marketing people trying to pretend otherwise.

Lord only knows what that EXPLORE thing is doing when it chooses its 500 "best" images out of the 4.5 million uploaded each day. It is a good reason as any as to why skynet should never be built

I do not use facebook and never will .

Nope. My brother does and is constantly cursing.

We are just in a village with some rather limited copper wire installed in the 60s.

Met with Emory Christoph in February in Wash DC (Location of the Nat Geo Global Headquarters). He has just semi-retired as senior photographer for Nat Geo. He told me (after a long chat) that, basically, I shouldn't bother as he thinks they will be in Administration within the next 6 years. They no longer have the budgets for any of the projects and have downsized to very, very few staff. They used to have budgets of £60m for one project. They now have that to cover the whole year of projects. There is now only one full time photographer working for the Geographic.

Sorry for the bad news but that is the reality of it.

That's a real shame, they are, in my opinion, one of the greatest research institutions on the planet and I'm always awestruck by the images in the magazine/the documentaries

Flickr - Anything worth posting, includes some sketches and CGI, but mainly photography.
500px - slightly higher standard than flickr, no CGI or sketches
My website - Absolute best photos, and more of a "learn to code" project than anything.

My Flickr is in my sig, along with my Tumblr. I tend to post more stuff on Tumblr simply because I use it more, but it's in amongst a load of other junk that I've reblogged. Flickr is simply my own work.

Indeed it is. And it's very, very good.
Landscape and street clearly outdoes cityscape IMHO.
Those long exposures would go down very well on 500px, and I also particularly like "black point" for so many reasons.

Also IMHO, your site is frustrating to use. Unrelated but yeah...
