health clearance

does anyone know what the final health clearance involves?

I thought you just had to have that form filled in by your GP and that was it, but apparantly there's a 'final' stage...could anyone tell me what it involves? thanks

Mine was just an interview where they talked through my history and anything that might ha\ve been a concern. Nothing major came of it, was just a chat. I guess if you have a major history of mental health issues or something then that might be an issue.

I started in March and was given health clearance after submitting my form, but occy health wanted to see all students a week before placement. We were told that it's a requirement that every student sees an occupational health department before they go on their first placement. It might just be our region though. It wasn't anything major, just to check everything was still ok and to give us our hep B vaccination/book in our next one etc.

Occy health will just have a talk with you about your medical history to make sure you are fit to practice. If there are any issues they help you manage them.
