I see your point, but I doubt the guy raped him for the sake of enjoying sex/sexual gratification alone. Rape is about power and control. I doubt the majority of those guys in prison who rape other male inmates would define themselves 'gay' or 'bisexual.' Whether they are or not is difficult to decide, maybe they just get a 'hard on' from thoughts of domination... *shudders*

Yes rape is about power and control. They get off on it. If they're getting off on dominating someone of the same sex, I don't see how that can be considered "straight".

Thats a bit of a myth really that straight men in prison will because of a lack of women,find a weaker man to have sex with. Regarding domination,theres plenty of other ways to indulge that in prison without buggering another man.

I would say there are a number of men,who given the right environment would like to have sex with another man. They can use excuses like, well theres no women about so Iam having the next best thing. or I'm ass raping him to dominate him,or I'm showing this rapist what it feels like. OKAY....

Remember in ancient history, places like Greece where women were seen as the child bearers and boys for pleasure. And today, look at the massive growth in transexual porn. You telling me that most people who watch it ,is openly homosexual? There was a survey done and the vast majority of men who watched it,identified themselves as 'straight'.

My belief is, that theres differently levels of sexuality.There are men who would not, whatever the environment willingly indulge in sex with another man,because they do not find the male body attractive in any way. Then you have the grey areas, where men are more open to experimenting, or will adapt to environments like prison, and take advantage of being away from his wife/girlfriends/mates. You have men who do not find the a male male body attractive but find something nice about transexuals. Then at the other end of the scale, you have the Gay men, who just find the idea of sex with women just wrong.

So no, male rape, any rape does have a sexual element. There are of course other issues,such as violence and predatory instincts which is why men who indulge must be in my opinion, ideally shot in the head. But this common saying of it's not about sex but power is incredibly short sighted.

You might be right, tbh; but this is an oft-repeated cliché. They aren't mutually exclusive. The power to do anything you want to an attractive girl when you're horny is probably a key motivating factor for an adventurous and immoral human who is capable of raping.

This depends very much on the culprits motivation (look for example at the rape statistics in prisons where in can be assumed that the cases are sexual motivated). Moreover, I don't see why a heterosexual raptist would choose a man as his victim.
In this context it is noteworthy that in the most cases the culprits are acquaintances.

I don't agree. I do agree that prison rape doesn't occur because of the lack of women/sexual frustration.
In the case of anger rape, the attacker rapes to assert control over the victim. The aim is to debase and humiliate. The rapist considers rape the ultimate offense he can commit against the victim.
In prisons the victim is often viewed by inmates as homosexual if they don't die or kill to protect themselves from rape.
