Feminism: A Male Perspective

We males need to do something about feminism

The truth is, most feminists are simply jealous and most of their complaints and demands are rooted from this. They are ignorant to the unworkable, the unreasonable and the apathy of the majority of women to their views/actions.

Man puts through laws for the benefit of woman.
Women are not interested in politics.

We need to take responsible. Who wants to join my feminist movement.

Together we can:

Force women into politics.
Have prime time women talk shows (I can't think of any in the UK?).
Eradicate the stigma attached to female promiscuity.

My Views

1.) I think we should push for an equal share of male/female MP's. As it stands right now, the few women of power have to try harder be more controversial to get themselves heard (results in negative press). The only way I can this changing is if we actively push women into politics or at least encourage them. I don't think it will happen naturally. Particularly because of the stigma attached to females in politics but also the difficulty in which they need to pertain to certain stereotypes to even have a chance of being successful. I think the media can do a lot to void stigmatization and to discourage negative stereotypes.

2.) The media's influence on gender roles/stereotypes are severely limiting. It is important to understand why certain sub-groups have low numbers in certain subjects/fields. Initially, encouraging females into politics and other subjects of which they have poor representation can only be beneficial. Interest/trends change over time and the spirit of the times move on. You are looking at the static point-of-view which isn't going to benefit anyone.

I agree that the most-skilled person should get the job. I just think politics is a little different. I think it is more subjective and female opinion needs to be fairly represented.

3.) Just because we have been wired by evolution and society doesn't mean we need to pertain to these limitations. Regardless, any limiting influences need to be broken so women can be liberated.

4.) I think we should take responsibility. I think the female feminist movements are static as the majority of women are too apathetic (our fault because of stigmatization/gender roles).

Whether it is an interest/success problem for women making it directly into politics, we need to address the problem.

5.) Women are almost encouraged to going into modeling/porn/escorting. It is easy money and seen as 'glamorous'. I don't really have a problem with the mainstreaming of these industries but it's the exploitation of vulnerability that low-budget companies have over young women which is a problem.

6.) The jokes can be funny. But in certain situations it can put women into an awkward situation. They can also make them vulnerable to being patronised simply because of her gender.

We do not need to do anything. Feminism only 'exists' because men allow it to exist, period.

Let them think they're getting power etc, we all know it is just superficial.
I dislike feminism it puts a strain on sandwich to mouth efficiency.

enough with this non existent victim complex

Politics is the one thing that annoys me when it comes to women's rights. Some women seem to complain that there are not enough women politicians but the fact is this is because none seem to want the job.

Women are not interested in politics? I've dedicated 3-4 years of my life to studying politics. And, shock horror, there are plenty of women on my course. Stupid generalisation.
Yo male feminist here. You have no idea what your talking about so stop chatting Sh#t.

1) there is a very real thing called Patriachy and Male Privilage. You as a man are treated better simply because of your gender.

2) yeh I think the porn idustry is massivly sexist, but i am not against porn. As a sex positive feminist I realise that Humans are sexual beings, therefore im not for the regulation of sexual imagry. I am Against Sexist Imagry that is different.

3) there is no need to force women into politics. the way women are treated in mainstream politics is disgusting especially through such patronising methods such as all women shortlists et al.

3)you want prime time all women talk shows? How is that feminist, have you seen loose women its one of the most sexist portrayals of women on TV.

4) You cant eradicate sexism without eradicating patriarchy. As partiarchy is essentially to our current political and economic system, good look with that. The only way to change that would be through progressive revolutionary politics, not through sh#t like talk shows.

Together we can:

Eradicate sexism and objectification of women in the porn industry.

Not going to happen, so much porn for men has already been made and is readily available for everyone. Men are pretty much conditioned to only like watching certain things.

Force women into politics.

There are women involved in politics, surely forcing women to do anything is not liberating.

mikeylfc1989
Have prime time women talk shows (I can't think of any in the UK?).

As someone has already mentioned 'Loose Women' is a prime time all-female talk show.

Eradicate the stigma attached to female promiscuity.
Eradicate sexism and sandwich jokes.

Does anyone use sandwich jokes outside tsr?

That program doesn't do women any favours.

Sandwich jokes are almost as good as kitchen jokes.
You guys are ******* retarded.

Why not actually read some feminist literature? Or even some sociological texts and apply it to the sex differences?

Cultural hegemony's my favourite when talking about sexism. Or do boys naturally choose action man and women barbies?

Agreed!

Sorry, but you could be just be making it up for all I know. No offence.

Lol. Yeah thats what I do, lie about what I do at uni. From '09-'12 I study a BA in Politics at Royal Holloway. After that, my intention is to do an MA (or MSc) in International Relations as my primary interests lie in terrorism, war and security. I am also fascinated by the paradigms that circulate the study of international relations and its many thinkers.

But I do find it highly amusing that you find a woman studying or being interested in politics that hard to believe. Happy generalising lad.

Im a guy and ive read plenty of feminist literature. Im am member of a local (mixed Gender) feminist group. I think its a bit harsh to say that all guys are ignorant about sexism. (although I admit a lot are)

Because that would stimulate demand for more for femi-splurge, which takes more women away from their duties. This in turn would contribute to the impedence of the female national sammich assembly rate (F-NSAR), which has been in decline since the turn of the century (along with the disasterous rise of the M-NSAR). If we wish to salvage something of our dignity, we as men, must act to correct this decline in the F-NSAR and i for one will not tolerate such efforts to prevent the much needed recovery of our precious, and historically high F-NSAR.

I hope you realise the gravity of your suggestion.
cant tel me nuthin

Feminism is just an idea that, like Marxism, influences impressionable people but has no bearing in the natural world (the 'real' world) and is hardly integral to modern, medieval or ancient societies. It's barely a sidenote. Don't give it so much importance that we need to create an anti-feminism. It's all just a load of hot air and BS from attention-starved sexually frustrated (us men don't have a monopoly on sexual frustration lol) frigid old women. Too much leftist claptrap..
Hardly any men are misogynists and hardly any women are feminists. Extremes, just like Marxism and Nazism, were filtered out of existence by a process of natural selection.
