I never had faith in 'Santa', my parents convinced me that he was the symbolic father for the father-less who would support them with gifts once a year.

I was blessed with a close extended family and we exchanged gifts over Christmas for as long as I can remember, there was just no need for a Santa in my family home.
My Dad fell up the stairs really loudly when he was trying to be 'Santa' at about 3AM. I was 7, worked it out straight away :colone:.

I myself was told by some kid at school. I went home and said to my Dad, "Dad, Santa doesn't really exist you know". And he said back to me..........

"I know, who do you think puts your presents out?".

Thanks for setting the record straight Dad!

I saw my parents putting presents in my room :frown:! I was so gutted!
Found presents in a cupboard when i was playing hide and seek , although I tried to forgive "santa" by thinking he just delivered them early...i soon worked out he didnt exist(through playground "rumours" and a xmas morning when i heard my parents arranging my presents), but didnt tell my parents...then the following year my mum sat me down to tell me and i was like "oh i kno"
i did truley believe in the easter bunny though, i remember carrying out a "house-wide" search for him one easter when i though i found some of his fur on our couch...turns out it was just thread :frown:
I never had faith in Father Christmas. Yes Father Christmas, not Santa! we've all been Americanised  I guess this is thanks to the heavy commercialisation of the Christmas season. Damn Hollywood! Damn Coco-Cola! love the ads . . .

Maybe you'd just been a naughty girl that year? :p:

Then shouldn't she have got coal? Or was that just my parents that told me if I was naughty Santa would leave coal in my stocking?

I kind of had my suspicions :curious: so asked my mum if he was real and she said no. Was disapointed lol

When I was four my parents were a bit too obvious in their statement that santa puts the presents under the tree, I concluded that their knowing of santas actions meant that they were actually the ones to do it. Otherwise how would they know what santa does. But my main source for disbelief was probably that I never got what I wanted.

The fact that he could visit every household in the world in one night never seemed remotely peculiar to me. What did, when I became a certain age, was that he is simultaneously in every large department store in the city centre. :p:

I had a similar moment of epiphany when I realised that our house didn't have a chimney.

Worked it out myself. After questioning how "Santa manages to deliver to every child in the world", I decided it couldn't be done. Also we didn't have a Chimney which made things all the more suspicious :p:

I never believe. Our parents never said he was real or fake I just though he was something to use as a christmas decoration etc, I didnt know he was supposed to give us presents. They made it clear they brought our presents (and gave us money when we lost teeth) so I thought he wasnt really a person, just a character/decoration)

I remember being at nursery when they had a santa and I just thought it was wierd the were making my sit on this random guy in a costume  (me age 3  )

Didnt effect my childhood. I'm gonna tell my kids that I buy their presents.

I'm surprised I didnt tell anyone else. I told EVERYONE when I found out about sex
The answer to any of my questions was that it was all done by magic. Can't argue with that. I just stopped believing tbh I don't remember anyone specifically telling me he wasn't real but I just grew out of it.

I never believed the Easter Bunny was real as we were bought Easter Eggs and given them by my parents. The tooth fairy was believable for a while....but sometimes she was late, so I cottoned on very quick.

My lil bro (11) and autistic bro (20 years old) are still believers and if I ever told my parents would make my life a living hell. I never told them otherwise. My sister (16) just stopped believing too.

My parents have never woken me up by delivering the special presents on our pillows. I'm 22 and they even did it when my bf was sleeping in the same bed as us. Santa even remembered him too, magic of course!
My mum wrote me a note from Santa. As I was carefully examining it, I thought "hey, that looks an awful lot like my mum's handwriting". So I opened up her diary and compared the writing - it was identical  But then I thought, "maybe Santa asks my mum to write the notes!"

A few hours later, I innocently went to the fridge and noticed some wrapping paper hidden behind the fridge. It was the same wrapping paper that Santa used! :cry2:
So I thought, "maybe my mum provides Santa with wrapping paper or she wraps his presents for me". :w00t:

And then I just LOL'd at myself and realised he was a fictional character.
I was never really told I think I just kind of worked it out myself once I got older, same with Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy.
I kind of already knew deep down, tbh, but WANTED to believe. :colondollar: So I just kept pretending.

But I think the moment I found out was when I saw my parents holding my main present (think it had just arrived in the post or something?) and as soon as they saw me, they just shoved it on top of the fridge. Understandably, I was a bit confused... and then when I saw that exact same present, I just knew. They tried to convince me I'd dreamt it!

I secretly knew the truth, but I pretended not to for a couple of years, and convinced myself that if I didn't confront my doubts head on, everything would carry on as normal.

So kind of like an educated theist who knows his belief is a sham, but doesn't have to courage to publicly disown it.

As far as I can remember I never believed he was real, it was simply illogical :P I remember my parents trying to convince me by getting some boots with some talcum powder on the bottom and making footprints throughout the house, it was inventive though, I'll give them that. Even now though my parents still watch that Track Santa thing online, they're obessed.
I never believed in santa, I'm not stupid lol xoxo
