Re: FINAL A Level Choices: Biology, English Lit, Maths & Psychology/Philosophy?
    (Original post by CullenLoverX)
Nope. That's why I've been stressing out about this for the last couple of months. I want to keep my options open and I've heard from some people that the subjects I've picked do that for me. Admitedly, they're not that well informed on how A Levels, unis etc. work, which is why I'm posting on here=)

But idunno, I think that my choices are keeping my options open as they're varied and offer a wide breadth. And I also thought that at least 3 of the subjects are well liked by universities, including Oxbridge. But again, that's just what I think and I [I]am[I] just a 16year old who hasn't even sat her GCSEs and has heard many ~myths about the scary world of A Levels and university.

Just make sure you have at least an idea as you don't want to be choosing A Levels that don't allow you access to your desired course at uni.

Lol don't worry too much though!: there are people doing their AS's and still have no choice about what they want to do at uni. But just make sure you choose subjects you'll enjoy/work hard in/at least ''good'' at.

    All the best.

And maybe talk to some teachers for further guidance if you need it.

    Don't even bother doing Photography.
Well I know that it's not even viewed as a proper subject by many prestigious universities, but does it even matter if its just 1 AS I have in Photography yet 4 full A Levels in respected subjects?

It doesn't matter. But it is a time consuming subject and therefore it can have a negative impact on your other subjects, which is not worth the risk. Just stick to four. They're enough.

    A-Level Choices - stuck :|
Im in the process of choosing my A-levels, and i'm not sure what to take for my fourth option. The ones im currently interested in doing are Maths, Geography and Economics.
Is there any subject that compliments these that I can take for my fourth one, or should i simply go for one of the sciences.
    Your thoughts please...

Further maths or Chemistry would be good, even biology, I'd do a science.

Take either further maths, a language, english, history or a science.

i would personally go for history or futher maths. your doing maths and econ, so futher maths would probably be useful and widen your career path. if not take history, its really intresting and is an essay writing subject and is very respectable.

and most importantly, do one which you enjoy .
    hope this helps... : )
