I am currently on a non-placement degree course (economics and politics) and I am considering taking a year out to do a placement to increase my employability. Do you think it will be worth taking the year out or should I just continue with my education with no gaps?
a placement gives your cv a massive boost when it comes to applying for graduate jobs, plus sorting one out for yourself shows a lot of self motivation - and it's definitely worth taking all the advantages you can get with the job market the way it is.
If you can find a placement and your uni is supportive of you taking the year out then I'd say go for it.
