He's not good enough, and he's mainly a RB isn't he?

We need a first choice LB, not cover for RB.
I think he's played in both positions for Villa.

IMO, we need cover for both LB and RB and if he can provide it, fair enough.

We do still need a first choice LB!

This is what happens when you sell 3 LBs in the space of 6 months

Well Kelly is under 21 so he can be included in the squad without worrying about numbers. Then it can be up to Roy to include him or not.

If the Insua move falls through, I'd imagine we wont sign Figueroa or any other LB. Im guessing the 6-7mil value figure we've seen banded around for LBs primarily comes from Insua being sold. If we dont have that cash, I dont think we'll go in for an expensive LB.
Young falls into the bracket of cheap back up (like Salcido).

Tbfh, you know more than anyone here how much of a **** situation we're in.
I'd rather have Salcido as a back up left back an'all. The only reason Young is being looked is because he's English.

My idiocy? Ok...call it what you want, I still think Martin Kelly is a better option for our back up right back, correct me if I'm wrong but Kelly has more European Cup experience than Young! As for left back, Insua and whoever else comes in would be a hell of a lot better than young and whoever else comes in.
His European Cup experience is probably due to Villa not playing in the European Cup. He's also got more European Cup experience than Milner and Ashley Young but I wouldn't put them in the same bracket of quality.

You would hope your new left back is better than Young is there, considering he's a right back. Just because you haven't seen a player doesn't mean he isn't good, this isn't Sky Sports punditry ffs

    Honest mistake

It's going to be odd seeing your lads joining us and City on our annual trek to the likes of Siberia for group games. This tournament is so **** ffs
    You're rather negative.

I positively relish the thought of some obscure European aways rather than Marseille and PSV for the billionth time in 5 years!

Much rather play Ruch Chorzow or Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Plus, thursday means doing a weekender is quite reasonable...

I've seen him, I don't rate him, and I've never rated him even when there was a Sky Sports ******** over him at Charlton. Kelly is an extremely bright prospect who could go on to have a great career with us and deserves his chance to prove it and be brought into the first team squad on a full time basis. Spending anything on Young would just be a waste of money that we don't have, especially seeing as he's being offloaded by Villa because he's one of their highest earners. If you like him that much, ******* bid for him and keep him in your back garden doing tricks!

You are a disgusting drunken mess ffs

It's a depressing tournament, made worse by the coverage on Five and even on occasion Sky One :facepalm2: Just hope Woy doesn't make you suffer it for a second year.

I'd love him in my bedroom showing me some moves tbh  I guess I am just irritated that we are losing a fans favourite simply to go and sit on a different bench every week because MON refuses to change his system. As it happens, now James Collins looks to be injured which means Cuellar could move to centre back leaving us short at right back :facepalm2:

Winning it's fine, but then having to come back for more the following season is lonely. And if you don't win it, you are forgotten forever. Unless you get raped like Middlesborough

Looks like Luke Young is nailed on now.

Not amused as this will clearly hinder Kellys progress.

Fair point but if we had offered a decent wage (rather than a pay as you earn deal), we probably could have kept him.

Indeed. Who's the third LB to go? Insua, Aurelio and ??
