Rare FM

Well a lot of you are just waiting now and some of you would like to know info on various things about uni, as you get set to start!

Well, Rare FM, the university's radio station, is beginning its pre-Freshers broadcatss from tomorrow to answer questions and give you some tips and tricks on uni life.

The days and times of the broadcasts are as follows:

Tuesday 13th 11am-Midday
Wednesday 14th 6-7pm
Thursday 15th 7-8pm
Friday 16th 2-3pm
Saturday 17th 3-4pm
Sunday 18th 6-7pm
Monday 19th 10-11am
Tuesday 20th 5-6pm

E-mail [email protected] or text RARE + your message to 60300 to put questions to us DJs if you like, or even request a song - it's up to you but listen in at those times and we'll provide you with info and entertainment to get you geared up for uni! :biggrin:

Click here to choose the stream you'd like to listen in with.

If there's anything in particular you'd like to know, post in this thread and I'll pass it on or I'll answer it myself on air.

I'll be doing a pre-Freshers show at 6, to go through some Freshers stuff and give you a few hints and tips here and there.

im tryin to listen live but its takin ages... its still buffering... and its not cos my internet connection is slow cos i have 8meg broadband!

edit: its workin now but some crap music is on...wtf

LOLLLLL!! i sent an email and they broadcasted what i said and my name!! ... anyway i asked what r the freshers events and she said dont bother goin to them cos they're really **** and overpriced and i could ask anyone and they would tell me the same. She said the best thing to do is go out with people in the halls. OKKKK wtf?!. Hmmm. lol

LOL - well some of the events, to be honest, have been criticsed in the past, but as long as you socialise with people, and not just rely on the music, then it should be okay.

I'm doing the next pre-Freshers show tomorrow at 3 (not Joe as advertised on the website now) so tune in to that.

We really do like people sending in questions and comments during the show, because we can directly answer them and give you feedback on what you want to know!

So listen in from 3 tomorrow for more info and 'entertainment'. :biggrin:

We've just launched on FM - if you have a radio around you, tune in on 87.7 FM. You can listen in olnine if you prefer at www.rarefm.co.uk.

It won't play properly... :frown:

It only plays for a few seconds at a time and the audio is jittery :mad:

Any suggestions?

I have it on the lowest quality setting too...

Havre you tried all the streams?

Are you using Winamp? (iTunes works too, but Winamp is better).

If you answered yes to both of those questions - then it may just be your connection and you'll have to wait until you move into halls with better connection and opportunity to listen on radio! :biggrin:
