Bringing Humanity to Master Chief — Halo 4 first details


Multiplayer

- Story wraps around the multiplayer experience for the first time in the franchise.

- Players now control Spartan IV’s, which promise to be just as powerful as Master Chief.

- There is a reason why red and blue soldiers are killing each other.

- Beyond the typical cosmetic customization options, players will be able to augment their Spartan IV’s abilities and weapon loadouts, altering their gameplay styles for the first time.
A lot of focus has gone into giving players a better sense of weight.

- Audio design has been much improved and really gives a player a sense of where shots are coming from.

- Maps have been built from the ground-up.

- Two maps have been announced so far: War House and Wrap Around.

- War House takes place in a civilian manufacturing plant that is travelling in a near space orbit above a gas giant.

- Wrap Around is a small slayer style arena, set in a Forerunner facility, that contains catwalks, ramps, and plenty of man-cannons to keep the action fast and frantic.

Yeah, I don't like the sound of perks. I prefer the traditonal distinction of only bringing your skill to an even battlefield. But I suppose they feel compelled to keep up with changing gaming trends. It has the potential to be cool though.
IGN Rewind have just put up a breakdown of the preview. For the most part it reminds me why I dislike IGN, most of it will make you pull this face (Lighting and detail are improved in a game released two years later, really?) and there's a cringeworthy moment where they call the loss of the health bar (Something I hadn't initially picked up on) a brand new aspect to Halo, but there's also a couple of nice insights.

I'm all for a perks system as long as they don't go crazy with it in an attempt to copy COD. I'd prefer minor modifications like slightly increased rate of fire or marginally shorter shield regen time to Armour Lock and Jetpack any day at least.
I'm reserving making any judgement about the mention of a perks system until we get some more information on it. I'd hate to see both a CoD-like system, and a Reach-like AA system, but I have hope that it'll be neither of those!

Hm, strange. Apparently you've been/are playing Mass Effect even though you've not been at home.

Probably the weirdest sounding guy in the episode. Hope it wasn't some drunkard butt naked or some foreigner. :colonhash: tbf, my voice sounds nothing like IRL than online. :pierre:
