I don't really use forge for anything other than faffing about but hopefully some good maps come out of this.

Same here, but the main reason I didn't use it was because I sucked at it. All those new handy idiot-proofing tools take away all the stuff I never had the patience for.

If I'm frank, I expected a bigger leap in forge. Such as being able to shape and mould the landscape and territory or create more aesthetically unique maps in the vain of Guardian, Zealot, Reflection and Heretic rather than placing grey blocks on grass.

^^The video didnt cover much, only one map, and the other 2 cant be that similar. Lets hope. I'm already buzzed about this game, especially the downloading maps on the pc aspect, H3 had so many good infection maps, back in the day.

Since everything is built on top of the same engine as before all the way back to CE I suspect a change like that would take a total retake of Forge from the ground up.
Might be a limitation of accomplishing that kind of thing within the current game engine also, a set back that could be overcome by the next Xbox.

Yeah, this has gotten me really interested in whatever Bungie is working on now. (as if I wasn't before) I would never have pegged McCartney ever working with Bungie, a company that traditionally makes action and shooter games. They just won't seems to go together.

I think Bungie are going to go back to their RTS roots. I've heard in the windmill that they originally started the concept of Halo out as an RTS before the whole FPS decision came in. You've got Myth and Oni made by them as well.

Still pessimistic about this. When are they going to release information on the ranking system... that and balanced gameplay is all I care about.

Does anyone here actually play griffball?

My "friend" always seems to want to play but it's so boring. The only plus is you get loadsa Cr ( got 14000 for one match)

I think the main thing to note here is...

DID HE JUST THROW THE ****ING ODDBALL TO HIS TEAMMATE!?

Oh yeah. Dual-wielding flag and pistol was pretty pimp, too. Not a fan of this feature if it makes its way into the final build. But it's cool nonetheless.
