Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.Nah, I pretty much guessed he was a family member. Moriarty hadn't crossed my mind (mainly because I've not watched or read much of the Sherlock catalogue so don't know much about him as a character XD)(Original post by ish90an)
Loved it, trust the BBC to get something entertaining on. The dialogue was witty, the deductive explanations were well handled and the integration with modern-day London seemed very natural, excellent stuff overall. Did anyone else think Mycroft was actually Moriarty when Watson was first abducted?
But the way he described their relationship (Sherlock calls him an enemy, while he himself had nothing but love for him) and the whole paying to spy on him thing seemed to come from a place of love, not enemy-ship. -
Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread. That's what I thought until he started giving slow answers and took out his little notebook. Then I realise it wasn't Moriarty for Moriarty's potrayal would have to be a darker Holmes with nearly the same amount of genius and this guy seemed ... lame for lack of a better word.(Original post by ish90an)

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread. One could say the same thing about the Doctor and the Master and they really are enemies. In fact, now I think about it - Holmes and Moriarty have the same sort of relationship as the Doctor and the Master(Original post by LastLordofTime)

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.I suppose. Only The Doctor doesn't think of The Master as an enemy (in my view), and I'd say it's similar for The Master. The Doctor feels (at least in the revival) that The Master is a friend, and he has to "save" him. And The Master thinks The Doctor is a rival, and because of his mental instability he uses his smarts in the wrong way which makes him come off as a villain.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

I know this isn't the case for the relationship BEFORE the revival, but in the RTD era I think that's where the relationship is.
But this is a Sherlock thread, not a Doctor Who thread ;B -

But you should check out the recent Sherlock Holmes film!
You need to see RDJ. There is a scene where he is naked and in handcuffs if that will get you to watch it.

It has relevance in more ways than one.

And is that the scene with the key? I think I saw that a couple of times before the film came out.
I've got the film, just need to get around to watching it. Seriously, the clip I saw of them on what I presume to be London Bridge just reminds me of the finale episode of the first series of Kuroshitsuji XD -
Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread. Why am I not surprised you've seen that particular seen already?(Original post by LastLordofTime)

No leather, sadly.
Your quest for leather continues I'm afraid.
It is a really good movie apart from the fights that break out every now and then. I noticed some things I didn't notice the first time around which make you go "wow" in the sense of how good his deductive powers are. Story is also good - concentrating on Holmes' very logical mind meeting headfirst with the illogical "supernatural".
Watch it! That is an order.
then post your review of it.

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.

I like how they handled Sherlock's deductions in Sherlock. The text pop-ups, sat-nav and everything else was really nice
I SORT OF got "PINK!" right away ... but not completely. I thought it might have been because of a pink suitcase but wasn't sure XD
I will watch it tomorrow. Nothing new releases then ... apart from some anime which can wait. But I'm going to bed now to continue with my rewatching of Supernatural. Got up to season 3 last night

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.I'm up to about level 25. If you plan on playing for a long time you should make a note of the passwords that you use.(Original post by riotgrrrl)
ooo I wanna play. so I entered torment and todom into the first solution box and keep on going back tothat picture, I'm guessing thats a clue right? (the instructions are probably as vague as they come intentionally)
EDIT: Ok figured out you have to press submit not enter and I'm onto the next one whoop!
EDIT EDIT: definitely not playing this in the creepy study rooms, why do the pictures have to be so scary?
This si definitely not a game to play in a dark study room
Basically, it gets really really hard..
This is the level I'm currently on:

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.I agree. Also they were unfaithful to the book in the film portraying Sherlock as a womaniser. It was great watching Cumberbatch say "Not really my area." Also the fact that the owner of the restaurant said "your date" implied that he has taken other dates there before as the owner wasn´t trying to be sarcastic or mean in any way, he was genuine in asking that.(Original post by LastLordofTime)
I watched the movie, and overall it was ... meh. Not that great. Sherlock was FAR better on Sunday.
I quite like the relationship between Holmes and Watson in the movie though ... but I think I prefer Cumberbatch as Sherlock
Really looking forward to the second episode. -
Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.I disagree. Movie Sherlock > BBC TV series Sherlock by miles.(Original post by LastLordofTime)

Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.I doubt they could charge him with murder in the first degree ... the law would be a bit weird there. But they definitely weren't suicides. They were forced in to taking the pill, so ... no clue where the law would stand on it XD He did cause their deaths though. So ... manslaughter?(Original post by cfc1992)
were they suicides or murders then? -
Re: Sherlock Holmes (2010 BBC TV series) - Discussion Thread.
I thought it was brilliant. Some of the best TV i've seen in quite a while. Shame it wasn't advertised more but then with 7.4million people tuning in, I guess it did well.
Cumberpatch (lol) was great as Sherlock, I still can't quite place his accent, i'm not sure what I was expecting from him, but I thought it really good. Freeman was a good Watson as well.
Although I did guess that it was a Taxi man and that Mycroft was of some relation to him, originally father but then I thought about the age difference, it was still a good episode! Bring on Sunday.
