Play campaign first and learn the basics, multiplayer is whatever you want, stick to lower leagues for random rushes. Or play properly, and learn the full on tactics, watch demo's of pro's (not just korean FYI). Can't wait to fail uni and own on SC2

Get into a high league and get noticed from there. If you need tactics go to youtube as you will find the solutions to everything.

Master Very Hard AI. (Insane cheats as it gets 50% more resources for literally no reason) Will give you a good grasp of the mechanics of the game. So far found several ways to totally screw over both Zerg and Terran with Protoss

Thanks but I'm in gold for 2 v 2, 4 v 4 random and ranked 2nd in my silver league now.

The secret?

Don't play Zerg, play Terran.

Game comes naturally now I've played ~80 games; starting to feel like aoe2 did after a while of playing it.

It has to be said however...how on earth are the really bad players able to stay in their leagues. It's unreal how common extreme noobs are.

me and my cousin visited my uncle yesterday up north and he introduced starcraft2 to us. it was awesome. played til 5am last night. gutted when i had to go home. we've both ordered a copy shame its a 2 day wait to arrive!

last night i managed to beat zerg with terran on very hard but this was after failing twice. i find the games clicking system etc is similar to aoe2 in many ways, so as a bit of an aoe2 megafan i instantly enjoyed it

cant wait for it to arrive in the post!

I think you get 7 hours of play time, or a month of owning it, whichever is shorter (ie you could play only 3 hours but after a month you'll be cut off, or you could play 7 hours in a day and thats it). In that time you can do anything, I've played against friends on multiplayer who were on the guest pass thing.
