Help with Econ questions

hey people,

i'm looking over some practice questions that i'm supposed to be able to answer, but i can't quite seem to understand how to do it. i'd appreciate any help if someone could provide any :o: thanksss

Consumers live on bread x and cheese y . They face the following pricing schedule. If consumption
is below » loaves then each loaf costs $1. If consumption is » or more then the price falls to $1/2 (on
every loaf and not just those in excess of »).
(a) Draw the budget constraint for someone with total budget of $10. Is the budget set convex?

(b) Consider someone with preferences u = min[x; y] and total budget of $10. Find how many
loaves would be bought by someone with this income paying a constant price of 1 and by
someone paying a constant price of 1/2 . Hence determine how many loaves will be bought
subject to the nonlinear constraint described if » = 5.

(c) Now consider someone with the same budget but preferences u = min[2x; y]. How does their
demand differ?
