Coursework was supposed to be capped, but it didn't

I just read the university's regulations and it clearly said that work submitted any time after the deadline will get capped to 40%.

During deadline week, I submitted my report late and the staff at the desk told me that my work will get capped. I was disappointed.

A few months later when I got my report mark I was given a 60%+. Even in the written feedback it mentioned nothing about it being late or marks having to be reduced.

In short, my work was overdue. But wasn't capped.

Do any of you find this odd?

Not worried. I just find this very odd.

Our dept. caps 10% per day down to a minimum of 40%, meaning a perfect essay/problem sheet would score 40% no matter how late it was.
Why are you complaining??? :p:

It happens. With my Uni, for every day we are late handing in our assignment we get 10% taken off our overall mark.

A girl handed hers in like 2 weeks late and got 60something%.

I don't particularly care, it just means I can bring it up if I ever hand my assignment in late.

I'm not. Just found it a little suspicious.
