importunate
Hi I have added the question as an attachment. any advice about how i would go about cracking it. Pretty sure I have to differentiate it...

dN/dt = -No/to(e^-t/to)

apart from that I am stuck. thanks

There's no differentiation involved, you just do 1/4N=Net 1/4N=Ne^{t} and solve with logs.

Apologies if the power is not just t , I couldn't make it out properly in the picture.

I'm afraid I can't read some important bits of your attachment. It's just too fuzzy.

However working with a half life of 5730 years for carbon 14...

1/2=e^(-k*5730)

Find k then solve

1/4=e^(-kt)

I make it roughly 11500 years. I could be more accurate..

You are given the value of N(sub-zero)
