    Stirling Uni Modules.
So i'm doing History and i just picked my modules, however having picked 1 for History - it asked me to pick a further 4. I picked, but it didnt ask me to number them in order of preference. So how will they know which i'll do?

I'm assuming the one you put down first will be the one they try and allocate you :p:

are you taking history as your subject for youor degree or is this just a spare module?

I'm trying to remember but I've forgotten it all and I only did it last year haha

Are you sure that you havn't been asked to order them? I selected 5 modules, confirmed them and then had to go to a different section in my portal to number them from 1-5 (:

You should have been asked to order them in number preference. If you haven't yet then do as my_dog_cassie has suggested and have a look around the portal to make sure you fill everything out. Other wise they will either put them in order for you (order you entered them in) or leave you until last!

Dont know if anyone is following this now but im taking History at Stirling this year and was a bit confused by the modules. There are two different History modules. Will I be automatically be placed in one/both modules or do I get to choose between them? Im not entirely sure that I want to stick with History so really want to take advantage of Stirling's 'flexibility' when it comes to modules.

In first year you have to choose between one module or the other, and (I think, can't quite remember) your first module is set for the one you applied for. After that though you have a choice, and can even pick up things like Environmental History in the second semester. It's really flexible though

About to pick my modules! I need Media Studies for my course and I also want to pick Introduction to Law. Not sure about my third though - is it wise to pick another subject such as Conmputing Science, or should I take "Skills for Learning at University"?

Are you sure that the last one isn't a half module? You'd be better off just picking another subject, especially since there's workshops that you can go to that help with studying at uni anyway. Another subject will give you a bit more flexibility too.

Yeah I decided on Media 1 (I'm studying Journalism so essential), Introduction to Law and Social Differentiation.

Backups are People and the Environment and Introductory Spanish. Thanks

I haven't studied any of them myself, but know people that have and they seem to have enjoyed them

You're welcome! Looking forward to first year?

Ah, I lived in Murray Hall, but I know people who lived in AKD and really liked it (apart from the insane amount of fire alarms they had! :P).

If I remember correctly and it hasn't changed, the exam for Intro to Law is open folder - as many notes as you want as long as they're hand written.
