Im looking at getting CCDcb as a lower boundary of grades possibly being BCDcb, Could I get into computer science at a half decent Uni? If so what sort of uni's should I be looking at?
This equates to 310 points. And im also thinking of possibly doing compsci with foundations at Leicester Uni and Loughborough Uni is this risky?.

What subjects did you do?

Maths, Physics, Geography, Psychology and General studies.

So a range.

This Is predicted grades though. My AS's are a bit better.

If you only got a C in A-level Maths then you won't find the Maths easy in CompSci. Also, you didn't do Computing? Was it offered at your school?

My AS grades so far on the maths modules: 67%, 75%, 57%. Going to resit the 57% upto a 67%> and get a B for AS.

Our college offered ICT. I sat in the classes and they just get spoonfed by the teacher. 'write this' 'write that', Its all done on MS word. I'd rather take much more versatile subjects then that.
I also plan to apply to these Uni's:

1 Leics foundation (science)
2 Loughborough foundation year + Comp Sci
3 Nott Trent
4 DMU
5 Hertfordshire

Robert Gordon/stirling?
Also, would this course apply to me? http://www.lboro.ac.uk/prospectus/ug/courses/dept/co/csfy/index.htm

It looks like it yes. Maybe this would be a good course for you to take as it will set you up for the full course.

Thanks, From what I see people say Foundations are offered at UEA also, would it be risky putting

1 Loughborough with foundation
2 Leics found science/east ang w/found (CCD for UEA)
3 Nott trent 280 points
4 DMU 260 points
5 hertford 200 points

In that order of prefrence. And would it be best to ring the top 2 universities, I want to go to an open day but would feel odd going for the foundation.

I know Nottingham trent/Hertford also have very specific modules I can specialise in AI/robotics with which is what I want to do after university.

Sorry I can't help you here, I'm not familiar with UCAS points and converting grades so just hope someone else posts here with info about that. Open days are helpful though you should go as it's where you will be for the next few years so make sure you like the place before you choose to go there.
Do you think they would mind if I went bearing in mind its for foundation degrees not the full degree. I dont know if your allowed to go open days if your applying to do a foundation.

When visiting open days you tend to not have already applied so they wont be able to tell the difference between prospective students. Either way you need to take a look at facilities if you are applying somewhere, I know I wouldn't like to apply for a university and find I actually hate the environment I would spend the next 3-5 years studying.

I guess you've got a point, the only awkward aspect would be the fact im in a room full of A grade students when im only a C grade student.

Meh, if you don't set your sights to high there should be no awkwardness.

For example I knew I had no chance at the likes of Cambridge or Oxford so I didn't give them any thought nor visit them. I visited Universities that had entry requirements ranging from CCC to BBB.

But as im going to do a foundation year aren't those points irrelevant?

Work your ******* arse off in upper sixth and you could probably raise your AS grades by at least one.
I did it, raised Maths by 2 grades, Economics by 1 and ICT by 2. Its not easy and you need to be able to work under pressure; its the only way I can really perform so it kinda worked in my favour.

I can possibly as im only doing maths/physics now. Although I've improved a lot, making my physics grades go from a U to almost a C, and my maths grades go from a E to a C almost a B.

Foundation years have entry requirements too (my insurance offer which I just missed by 20 UCAS points was CCC or 240 UCAS points, I'm still hopefully being accepted once I send my statement of results to the UEA).

Yes the foundations of Loughborough, Leics, and UEA seem to be around CCC, I think I must ring up to make sure, and ask what the average student they accept has.
