Not sure which university to pick

I've been offered offers to study at both Hertfordshire and Swansea both through clearing. Hertfordshire gave me the option to study for a 4 year course in astrophysics which is what I wanted originally whereas Swansea have given me a course in physics for 3 years however they said that I could change to a more specialised course if I do well in the first year. Going by the Guardian's guide to universitys I would pick Hertfordshire in a heartbeat but other guides suggest that its not so good. So could anyone give me any insight or opinions on this. Thanks in advance.

Id say your first choice would be best. league tables really have no influnece on your experience there, and only generally show how good a uni is, i wouldnt worry about a few places...

Anyway you been to any?? Which you like better? Which is closer to beach, better nightlife, better weather etc  these all effect it too.....

I would say go with your gut anyway

Hertfordshire gets better every year and I've heard alot of good things about it, like the amount of money that goes into student resources (LOTS), but the nightlife is apparently appalling.

Thank you for the replies:biggrin:
Yeah I was leaning more towards Hertfordshire if I'm honest and no I haven't visited any of them as I only got made the offers today! I haven't got much longer to decide though so that's not really an option.

You know I'm starting to think I should resit the year. I got BCCC when I should have got AAAA. I underachieved massively but not because I didn't work hard for it or because I wasn't intelligent enough but because of illness throughout the year and on the exam dates. I'm just worried though that if I do resit the year that the same thing will happen again.

Not sure if this is too late but Swansea is fantastic, some of the best nightlife in the UK, the uni itself is pretty much on the beach, loads going on for freshers and refresh and events every week throughout the year. I'm going into my 3rd year now and love it  I don't know anyone who does physics though so can't comment on the course itself, sorry!
