Yep, I have a conditional offer for ESPS that I firmed a while back.

Awesome, I got my offer last week. What language and specialism did you choose?
    Replied to your PM.

At least they're not requiring 3 5s I was surprised that Durham didn't ask me for any high AP scores, especially given how high their offers for UK students usually are is Durham your first choice?
Haha I'm worried about my performance on the ap lit exam though... Statistics and psychology should be okay

And no, it's not my first choice but it's nice to hear back finally.

Just repped you for that! And ah, things often become dragons along the way. /weird-sounding-statement Such as sitting through ninety minutes of math. XD Anyway, I don't exactly have any immediate questions, but I hope you don't mind (that) much if I randomly ask you some questions a few months later! For now, I have enough information to ponder where I want to try for (I have it narrowed down to either somewhere in New England, the West Coast, or England).

There's not much substance in this post, but I thought I'd reply anyway. Because I really will take you up on that offer and you may or may not find yourself bombarded with impossible questions six months into the future. :D
Thanks! Feel free to ask as many impossible questions as you have - though I may not have too many answers.

I do plan on staying in the UK if possible, so, taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking Durham is my best bet- I've lived in a small town all my life, so I don't really mind the size of the city.
Durham without a doubt then. Has the strongest domestic reputation, hands down.

I don't know; Bath is very close to Durham in terms of rep, imo. To be fair, all of those unis are very reputable domestically but Durham and Bath would head the list.

Durham is my top choice as well! Have you heard back from a college yet?

Has anyone here received an offer from LSE? If so, how long did it take and what were your qualifications?

I did last year. I applied mid October (Oxbridge deadline), and received my offer the last day in March. I applied with 4 APs already done, each were 5s. Applied with predicted 5s in 5 others. Received a condition of a 5 on my GovPol exam. Oh I also applied for BSc Politics and Philosophy. Good luck!

Thanks for the information! That seems like a LONG wait... I applied on February 8th; do you think my decision will come before May 1?

And where did you decide to go, may I ask?

I think they aim to get back to everyone before March 31, so not much longer to go! Haha yeah, it felt like ages, by then I'd basically forgotten that I'd applied to LSE and I was so surprised when I got the email that something on Track had changed (I'd been expecting something from KCL around that time, but they didn't get back to me until May... :/). It was a welcome surprise though!

I'm currently at LSE I'm very glad I picked this as my firm, was debating between LSE and an unconditional at St. Andrews. However, now that I'm here I can't imagine myself being anywhere else. If you do have any questions, just let me know.

No :/ I've only just received an offer less than a week ago, though.

Ya I didn't hear back from a college until almost 4 weeks after getting an offer

Can someone please help me understand my conditional offer for the University of Nottingham?

    The conditions are:

    "AP scoring 543
including 5 in Literature and Composition plus
IELTS (academic) with an overall score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each element or 87 in TOEFL
IBT (21 listening, 22 reading, 23 speaking, 21 writing) or 62 in Pearson Test of English (55 in
    reading, writing, speaking and listening)"

They want you to get a 5 on your AP Lit exam, plus at least a 4 and a 3 on two others. Then they also want you to take one of the following exams that test your English abilities (IELTS, TOEFL or Pearson - all common exams and it should be easy for you to arrange a date to sit one of those) and acheive a score within the ranges they have provided for each. Not sure why they're asking you to do that but hopefully someone else can shed some light on it?

Yeah, I was very confused about the need for testing of my English abilities... Maybe it's because I was born in Russia? But I've been in the US for 15 years so that shouldn't be an issue... :/

Cool, 5 unconditionals. Now I'm waiting for the overburdened American colleges' admissions offices to determine my fate.

The ones I am most anxious for are Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, and Middlebury. If I get into one of those 4, I'd be elated.

Ah congrats on your unconditionals! I know that anxious feeling haha. At this time last year I was awaiting news about the University of Virginia. While that didn't work out for me I hope it does for you! (I'm going to sneak in a bit of bias here and root for you to come to SOAS anyway - amazing school, amazing people, it's part of the UoL which is awesome, and it's in the best city ever ) Good luck!

It could be that. Emailing the admissions tutor for your course would be the best solution. They may remove it from your offer.

I'm at Nottingham if you have any questions about the uni.
