Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*With the modules you have to write down the modules and then the percantage of your degree that it is.(Original post by Bogies)
Ive got a couple of qualifications. Im applying to do PGCE mathematics.
I am studying Economics and finance at university, and for the application I've wrote down all my module titles and the marks I got them for.. From reading this thread, i think thats the wrong way?
Also, i have lost my a-level certificates, still have my GCSE certificates. Is this going to be a problem? or can they confirm A level grades from university ?
I don't have any experience, at the moment. This is really bad and cheeky question, reckon I could get away with lying on my application? I will do work experience, just after my exams finish. SO technically id be lying about the dates, not the actually experience?
Ive got all the qualifications, my reference should be okay, personal statement is reading well. So my only downfall is work experience, and i really want to do the PGCE
Thank You
With the A-level certificates I'm not sure they would want to see them as they are more interested in GCSE Maths and English and your degree. If they didn't want to see them you would have to pay for new ones.
With the experience, I wouldn't lie about having done it because they will ask you about it in your interview and its good to write about what you gained from it in the PS so if they worked out you were lying then it wouldn't go well in your favour. What your can do is say that you have some arranaged and what you hope to get out of it. That way your not lying but it shows that you will have some by the time you start the course. -

Ill obviously write about the experiences that i look to gain from the experience. Any idea what i can write?
Thanks again -

i had the same problem, lost my a level certificates and only realised when they called me for interview and asked to see them. I know it's an added expense, but if i were you i'd apply for new ones anyway, best to have a copy of them. Hope this helps!

How do i go about re-ordering them?
Thank you -
Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*Firstly you need to know which exam boards you did your exams with. I had used Edexcel, WJEC, and AQA, here are the websites for those: AQA, WJEC and Edexcel. If you used another exam board then it'll probably be easy to find the relevant bit on their website. Then just read the relevant instructions for each board.
Hope this helped

Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*No. All i did was separate my degree into the various religions I'd studied and put the percentage of what it was worth for my degree.(Original post by mad-cow18)
Just wondering....Do you have to outline every module undertaken at university and mark? x
E.g.
Christianity 20%
Buddhism 60%
Judaism 10%
Hinduism 10%
Your university reference may send a transcript with your marks on, I'm not sure, but we don't have to do it ourselves. -
Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*You accept one offer. You don't have an insurance choice. So, logically, there isn't anywhere to pass your place onto.(Original post by *absinthe*)
Hi
So I'm looking at applying for 2013 entry for secondary physics. The process does that mean if I get conditional offer for say a 2.1 and then get a 2.2 does it pass onto the next choice if unsuccessful like Uncas does?

Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*Thanks I thought so. Do you think it's worth applying early or waiting till June/July and get a last minute place once you know your degree classification?(Original post by affinity89)

You could hold off, but you are risking there being no places left. Especially given the vast bursaries they are introducing for your subject next year.
I would apply sooner, to be honest. Are you very concerned over the 2.2 vs 2.1 outcome? -
Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*My exams didn't go too well this year so expecting a 2.2 or 3 this year. Hoping to bring it up next year to a 2.1 but concerned that if i apply and get a conditional for a 2.1 i won't get it. If i apply after I had my grades I could go somewhere where i know will accept lower.(Original post by affinity89)

Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*
From what I read GTTR opens in early October? I know Primary PGCEs are very competitive wherever you apply to, so is it best to apply as soon as possible? I am trying to arrange work experience for September. I am also going to volunteer during my third year in a school helping students in small groups with their maths - would this still be classed as relevant experience?

Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*
Hi everyone, I'm applying for a primary pgce starting in 2013 and I'm a little bit confused! Many of the universities state that you should apply as soon after 1st september as possible as it's so competitive but as the previous poster says, the GTTR website states that it doesn't open for applications until early October, so this means no one can apply before then, right?! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks x

Hi Leah, I'm applying for a primary PGCE for 2013 too and I was wondering the same thing! I heard that applications close at the start of December for primary however I also read that it was first come first served so should we be aiming to send off applications as soon as the gttr opens which is as you say around October? Where are you thinking of applying? x

Re: The GTTR application guide and FAQ thread *please read 1st post*Yes, the sooner the better. They don't properly close in December, altho unis don't have to look at your application if they are still doing interview rounds, if they choose not to.(Original post by SophiaC)

If GTTR isn't open, then no one can apply for courses. However, you can get sections of it ready, like your personal statement (and contact your referees so they can begin to draft your reference), so that you can complete it and send it as soon as you can
