Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals
See title :P
Thought this would be fun to see what everyone recommends..
Mine are:
1- Phantom of the Opera
2- Sweeney Todd
3- Dirty Dancing
4- Wicked
5- Rent
6- Chess
7- Sound of Music
8- Jesus Christ Superstar
9- Sister Act
10- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (stage version - didn't like the film)
(I think- that was pretty difficult though)
BUT i haven't yet seen Love Never Dies and have a very strong suspician that that will go straight to number one...
What do you think? -
Re: Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals
This is far too hard for me to do but West Side Story is amazing and thus has to be my number 1 musical. Others I like (going on soundtracks as well, since I haven't seen all of them) are:
The Sound of Music
Mamma Mia!
Sister Act
Joseph
Sweet Charity
Wicked
Jesus Christ Superstar
Phantom
but I can't put them into order!

Re: Your Top 10 Favourite MusicalsNot. A. Musical.(Original post by ballroombabe)
3- Dirty Dancing
Worked on it since the beginning, a no point can it be considered a musical... or a dance show really. At the most it's a 'play' with music.
Not in any order.
1. La Cage aux Folles
2. Sunset Blvd.
3. Phantom of the Opera
4. Les Miserables
5. Avenue Q
6. Nosferatu
7. Jekyll & Hyde
8. Assasins
9. Sweeny Todd
10. The Producers -
Re: Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals
Ooh I find this rather difficult... I have the problem of loving pretty much ANY musical I see! :P
But out of the ones I've seen... these are my faves:
1. Wicked
2. Billy Elliot
3. Avenue Q
4. Legally Blonde
5. Phantom of The Opera
6. The Lion King
7. Sister Act
8. Sound of Music
9. Jersey Boys
10. Hair or Les Miserables... (can't decide...)
I've also seen Mamma Mia!, We Will Rock You, Oliver, and Blood Brothers.
Really want to see West Side Story on broadway... but don't think that's gonna happen any time soon! hehe -
Re: Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals
In no particular order:
Les Miserables
Phantom of the Opera
Jersey Boys
Wicked
Avenue Q
Chess
Blood Brothers
Spring Awakening
Sister Act
We Will Rock You
I also love classics like Calamity Jane and The Sound of Music
and I'm getting into Sondheim - Company, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George etc...
There are so many good musicals, it's so hard to pick a favourite! -

Re: Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals1. Les miserables
2. The lion king
3. Mamma Mia
4. Oliver
5. Wicked
I know I only chose 5 but I would see Les Mis 10 times in a row if possible so it makes up for the lack of 6-10 -
Re: Your Top 10 Favourite Musicals
1. Jesus Christ Superstar
2. Billy Elliot
3. Hair
4. RENT
5. Hairspray
6. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
7. Avenue Q
8. Les Miserables
9. Wicked
10. Chicago
Roughly in that order, but the last four are interchangable with Fame and Guys and Dolls in there as well somewhere.

and I'm getting into Sondheim - Company, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George etc...
