Books recommended for Geography/Earth Sciences discussion in personnel statement

I have a dilemma
I am currently a sixth form student about to enter year 13 and i need some guidance on some relevant books I can read and research for mention in my personnel statement . I am set on studying a geography/earth science degree at undergraduate level and would like some suggestions on what titles will be of interest.

I have just ordered the book No Impact Man ,but the problem is that it is not too relevant to the Earth Science course.
Any students who currently study earth sciences or geography at uni - I NEED YOUR COMMENTS lol.
Also anyone else who is in the same situation comment aswell

I'm doing geology and the best thing I can say is just wait till you get a reading list when you enrol.
Ofcourse if you can't wait to get started I suggest reading Journals in your subject area instead of going for actual books and dissertations as it will break you in easier
