A view that is at odds with the Qur'aan and sunnah is irrelevant.

I don't see anything at odds with it.

Strange, I pointed out the position on stoning that was set out in Hadith and not Quran, and he dismissed it out of hand, saying that the Quran was perfect and didn't need to be fixed, and so didn't need to rely on Hadith.

And? The point is not valid if it contradicts the Qur'aan and sunnah. Many people fail to appreciate Islaamic jurisprudence and how it works.

We do appreciate it. And we don't like it. Death sentences for such insignificant and inconsequential matters are why many people in the world do have a problem with this sort of thing, and feel that the Islamic belief system is incompatible with life in the modern world.

Death for adultery, apostasy, drawing funny cartoons and much more.

Muslims don't particularly care what you think. Islaam is not changing to please you.

Pretty much summed up the whole point of this thread in one post then!

And this is why we don't like you, if you're so sick of Islamophobia, why not do something about it (changing like other religions are slowly in the process of doing). If you don't change, the modern world will become more at odds with your bigoted, medieval way of life, and Islamophobia will get worse.

    It's up to you.

This exactly. I'd rather there be Xenophobia Islamophobia than to change a single iota about Islam.

So what's to be done about all the 'pretend' Muslims in Iran who are protesting against the current lot trying to stome a woman to death?

Since we've already had it straight from the horse's mouth so to speak, that it is pretty basic "Islamic jurisprudence" according to scripture.

They're entitled to do as they please

Some would consider it justice...nothing to do with modernity.

For instance, Saudi Arabia is quite modern, its people live a life of luxury but it has a different form of justice or China as another example.

    And
They obviously don't believe it is Islamic to stone someone to death, or appropriate.

What they believe is irrelevant, scripture has the final say

Again, this is the problem, and what causes people to justifiably have a problem with the way some Muslims interpret Islam.

I'm sure, just like the rest of the religious nutjobs, you don't consider these people who are against stoning to be proper muslims, because if they were, they'd be agreeing with the scriptures, right?

But then again, no argument that uses common sense as a basis will have any effect on you, as you've already demonstrated your ignorance several times on this thread already, and judging by your rep, TSR as a whole.

    Your problems don't concern me.

No, I would've said that already.

I think given the amount of people that have tried to alleviate you from your ignorance from all sorts of topics and have given up is really telling.

Telling from your sig, you're a hard headed moron who failed at university and now want to teach children science?!

and they wonder why the rates of students taking sciences has fallen dramatically

    Piss off bozo.

Not just my problems. I see you are quick to scream xenophobia, but have no problems with extremists dishing that out in quantity.

    (Original post by Diaz89)
No, I would've said that already.
Well, since we've already established that stoning is a prescribed punishment in scripture for a certain offence, and Muslims must live their lives according to these scriptures, in your eyes, how is it possible for someone to live their lives according to such and still be against stoning as a punishment?

Alleviate my ignorance? I'm not one who on one hand is claiming that Islam is a religion of peace and on the other is advocating dishing out stoning punishments because its written in the scriptures.

Surprisingly, the majority of people who do claim to be Muslim would find it extremely difficult to live their lives in modern times exactly according to how some misguided fellows thought the Quran should be interpreted appropriately to conditions a thousand or more years ago.

It's those people who try to propagate those ignorant, uneducated, backward and misogynist views who are doing a great disservice to the religion and are responsible for the so called Islamophobia that we see today.

Your personal attack on my education is irrelevant.
