There are many different phobias, some with strange names such as iatrophobia (fear of doctors) or more commonly; agoraphobia. CBT has been shown to be successful in helping with cases of phobia as well as other therapies such as aversion therapy.

Some techniques rely on behavioural changes but some rely on insight (psychodynamic approach) - it wholly depends on the client.. Hopefully you'll get some other answers
Sory for being loose in my answer, I dont have much time today :frown:

What are the different phobias and how are people cured from them?

Phobias can be dealt with through the use of systematic desensitisation. This is a process which requires the therapist and patient to design a hierarchy which gradually exposes the patient to the feared object or thing. By being exposed to the feared object gradually, the fear should lessen and eventually the phobia is cured.
