The point of ensuite is that you don't share, right?

I don't know how to break it to you guys...

It's four people if your in Halls. If you're in Slaidburn it's about 12 or something. I don't think you'll know which until you arrive. There's probably more chance of you being in Slaidburn.

I remember Slaidburn well from when I had mates who lived in there.

It's probably the best located accomodation on campus. One lift ride down to Spar! But the building itself is rather well worn, and most people I knew there were a bit untidy!

The locks on the doors rarely work...

People actually live in there????? I just thought it was an abandoned shop.

Maybe that's how it looks from your room. If you actually ventured out of your comfort zone in Lonsdale a little it might appear a little clearer for you.

Or, perhaps, you should get an eye test...

No it just looks like an abandoned shop. You can't really see it from Lonsdale, though I see it walking past Spar everyday. Somebody should clean it up it's a mess.

I know what you mean. It's just the entrance to the accommodation though, the accommodation is above it. The entrance does look like an abandoned shop from the outside. I actually wouldn't have known what it was had I not seen students coming in and out of it.

In terms of what the accommodation is like there though, I really dont know. From what I have heard it is some of the older accommodation on campus. But you can make any room nice and homely with things like posters and things! It's definitely not worth getting worried about though.

yeah i second this... it's only the entrance that looks like an abandoned shop, just because it's sandwiched between the LUSU shop and Spar. dont worry OP!

even if you have a small flat, people who live in bowland/older accommodation are generally really sociable... even if you are in a small flat of 4, you can socialise with the other flats in your building too. plus the older ensuite rooms are meant to be bigger than the new-build ones!

check out the Accommodation thread for pics. hope you have a fab freshers week and get a lovely flat!

I see the confusion now. When I mention Slaidburn, I'm referring to the whole building and not just an entrance foyer.

Yeah the foyer could do with cleaning up. The lift could also do with fixing too - I once got stuck in there for 15 minutes before a night out when visiting a mates flat. Was not pleased to be stuck in a tin box whilst pissed for that long!
