Ensuite v 2 bedroom flats

I'm from the US and am studying at MMU in a couple weeks. I had a question regarding accommodation. What's the difference between ensuite and 2 bedroom flats? With the flats do you share a bathroom with a bunch of flats? Could anyone explain this to me?

So in a 2 bedroom flat, you share the bathroom with one other person? Do you also share the lounge and kitchen with one other person?

in a flat you would share everything like bathroom, kitchen and lounge the only room you would have to yourself would be your "own" room

ensuite room (like in halls) you would share just the kitchen and lounge area but would have ensuite in your "own" room
