Do you need to be good at english to do well at geography a level

heya im considering to do geography at a level but if it involves being good at english and writing then i would like to drop it. does anyone know if geography involves essay type questions and a good level of English thank you :smile:

You will struggle in any subject without a good level of English.

What the person above said - you need a decent level of ability in English to be successful in any subject at A-Level (I guess with some slight exceptions, i.e. maths, maybe)

Of course, you don't need to be doing amazingly well in English Lang/Lit at GCSE, there are some essay questions in the exams and you'll probably have to do coursework which involves writing a decent-length essay, but other than that a good understanding of English spelling and grammar will do :smile:

Why are you worrying? Do you have a particularly bad knowledge of English?

There will be essays to do espicially in A2, although there are questions in the exam which require shorter answers.

I'm pretty sure this is the same for all exam boards but check.
