It's possible that they haven't sent Westwood offers out because they physically need to allocate people into single and shared rooms before they can send the contracts out. Try go on http://go.warwick.ac.uk/contractsWA and see of there is an offer there.

If Warwick was my insurance but I put Westwood as my second choice, would I have more of a chance of getting an offer from there?

Well I don't think anyone has been given a Westwood offer yet. So logging onto the page at the moment seems to currently bring up a page without an offer.

As for putting Warwick as insurance: if you applied before the 31st July, a ballot takes place (by computer) which randomly puts you into an on campus group or an off campus group.

If you happen to be in the off campus group there is no chance that you will be in Westwood (perhaps via a waiting list). IF you are in the on campus group, you may not necessarily get Westwood (eg you could get first choice), but most insurance students to get Westwood because it is undersubscribed.

I also haven't received an email. I have logged in via the link posted and all I get is
"Your application was processed on 26/07/2010". I understand it may mean I'm allocated to Westwood. But as I applied before the deadline and I firmed Warwick, I had a chance to get one I preferred. I did put Westwood as my 6th choice but I wish I didn't.
Also. I did have a change of course from MMath to discrete math after missing the AEA requirement, would that alter my accomadation application?

Course: History (V100)
Hall: Benefactors

With a room mate, haha. Anyone else? Woulda preferred less people to a kitchen, personally, but en-suite, woot! :x How crazy does it get, anyone know?

Benefactors shared for me, too. Was my 3rd choice, though.

Kitchens are incredibly small considering the number of people. It's in the centre of the building so ventilation is a bit :erm: and it gets quite hot in there. Considering this was the first halls of residence Warwick built (Old Rootes came shortly after) it's pretty poorly designed, even though the shared rooms are massive and great for inviting people back. Also you get a common room :yy:

The change of course meant that you didn't meet the conditions of group 2 [Firm Warwick and apply for accommodation before 31st July, meet conditions of the offer by the 31st August]. As such you are considered in group 4 under a first come, first served basis - you might be in Westwood or off campus.

I am apparently going to be sharing in Westwood - Not happy about this at all as I stated in my application that at times I need my own personal space. I am going to ring up tomorrow and tell them i'm extremely against this, but does anyone think they have made arrangements on campus for those that are practically physically unable to share a room? It's for the person I'm going to be made to share with just as much as it is for myself, because at times I'm just not a nice person to be around. :frown: So upset about this.

Damn it. I wish I knew that when deciding to change course or go to York. All this bloody trouble over one mark on a AEA paper!
Should add that I've made an error (if anyone cares):
According to the latest figures (a couple of years old now) there are 160 people sharing in Westwood (in 80 rooms), not 150 as I've previously said.

Course: Economics (L100)
Applied To: Don't remember >_<
Hall: Heronbank
Reaction: Happiness  exactly the hall I wanted, easy to get away from it all when I need some time for myself/study, big rooms, ensuite and still so close to uni and everything that it's easy to socialise and all that stuff!

You could always defer? Then next year you'd be applying as an unconditional firm. Depends if you'd have anything to do on a gap year I suppose.

I was unconditional firm and got my 3rd choice.

Deferred entry is the highest accommodation priority though, the fact that you got one of your choices means you did a lot better than some people!

I deferred entry from last year and I didn't get any of my choices, I got stuck with Westwood sharing.

deferred entry is the highest priority though, there's either specific circumstances to your situation or you got really unlucky :frown:
