Im going to go for the official homegrown age which is 18. So I guess Joe Hart counts but the rest you just bought for ridicoulous amounts of money bar AJ.

They deserve a lot of credit for Adam Johnson, he's improved so much since he's moved from Boro. He wouldn't be playing for England if it wasn't for City, so it's probably fair to say they have "produced" an England international.

Barry has stayed pretty much at the same level, and it's too early to judge Milner. Hart has improved but that was mainly down to Birmingham, and Lescott has gone backwards.

Par score imo, in terms of development anyway. But a successful top 4 team, which is inevitable for them, playing lots of English players is a good thing for the national team.

Hart was picked out of the lower leagues, given about 10 games on loan and then given 50 odd PL appearances (And some European too) by us, this earned him his England debut at 22 years old. I fail to see how Brum giving him 30 odd games constitutes the majority of his development. The main thing they did was give him the platform to get a media band wagon behind him by generally being solid.

Anyone who watched Hart regularly knew it was only a matter of time before he became number 1, hence the chant.

Sorry but it really annoys me when people overlook what we did for Hart (Including Hart himself). Agreed with the rest of the post though :wink:

Just realised that there's a new thread, I'm so horribly late. I just noticed that it stopped coming up on my watched threads and sat there forlornly. I've still not been to a game this season as I went to see Muse the other week instead, and last weekend I completely forgot. Now I'm back in London to see Brentford vs Hartlepool on Saturday instead, then jetting off to Italy for ten days! So my first game of the season will be the home match against Newcastle. Gutted that I'm missing the home game against Juve - I'll be in Italy that day though! Might be able to watch it there somewhere before my flight back.

Still considering a season ticket. Can't decide! Depends when my loan gets here, might as well spend it on something useful rather than books. All the other stuff I'm doing this year is pretty much free.

Not going to be pretty today, we've never won away at Wigan so it'll be 1 win in 5 league games :sad:

But if we lose please can we be out played, not sure I could take more points dropped at the hands of the ref.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Mancini in training ground bust-up

Emmanuel Adebayor is almost certain to leave Manchester City at the earliest opportunity after his relationship with Roberto Mancini finally boiled over this week.

The Togo striker had to be restrained by players and staff after bursting into the Italian's training ground office with proof of a torn muscle, an injury Mancini had initially brushed off as nothing more than a dead leg.

Former Arsenal man Adebayor was dismayed to his boss thought he was feigning injury.

He hasn't featured for City since coming on as a substitute in the defeat by Sunderland last month and claimed on the eve of transfer deadline day that he would welcome a move away.

'It all kicked off between them,' a City source told the News of the World. 'There is nothing worse than a manager accusing a player of feigning an injury.

'Adebayor might not be playing well, but he would never be so unprofessional. He was furious.'

This week's incident is not the first time the pair have clashed. Adebayor again had to be calmed by City staff after he was dropped from the side on the opening day of the season at Tottenham.

He is one in a long line of players who were bought in by former boss Mark Hughes and have struggled to adapt since the Welshman was replaced by Mancini almost a year ago.

Real Madrid are keen on Adebayor, with Jose Mourinho making tentative approaches in the summer.
