Is AEA on in 2011?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Extension_Award

This wikipedia article has only served to confuse me. I want to apply to Maths and do AEA in 2011, can anyone shed any light on this?

wikipedia
The last AEA examinations took place in June 2009 with results issued in August 2009. After this time the Advanced Extension Award qualification were withdrawn. This came after a decision by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), that the new A* grade being offered at A level will overlap with the purpose of the AEA, thus rendering them unnecessary. However, because the Mathematics A-level will not be modified until 2011, with first examinations in 2012, the AEA in Mathematics has been extended until June 2012, as confirmed by Edexcel and the QCA.

All AEAs, but Maths, were scrapped in 2009. So you're fine. Maths is until 2012.
What's confusing about "However, because the Mathematics A-level will not be modified until 2011, with first examinations in 2012, the AEA in Mathematics has been extended until June 2012, as confirmed by Edexcel and the QCA."

Sorry, I was just being thick, I misread it as having been cancelled already and will be brought back in 2012. Woops

£40, or if you're a noob like me who goes into the examination office the day after the deadline, £80 for late entry.
This Wikipedia entry is not even correct. AEA mathematics has no proposed end date.

'We are pleased to announce that the Advanced Extension Award (AEA) in Mathematics has been extended up until the end of June 2012.'

That was the case in 2009. Stephen Meek (the Director of Young People: Qualifications Strategy and Reform Group) reprieved the AEA indefinitely on 16th June 2010.
