Latin Declensions - How to know which one to pick?
I've been given a sheet which has a list of 10 words.
For each word I must state the case, declension, gender, the nominative form and the meaning,

What I am having trouble with is how do i know which declension to go for if the ending is the same in more than one declension?

For an example, if it was servus, and us was an ending in both 1st declension and 2nd declension, how would i know what one to pick?

-Note, I know this isn't actually right, this is just an example...

And also the gender, how do i know????

Does it have any context - may be pronouns like ad, ab or something before?
If not, you should list all the possible ones eg.
if it was puellae
you should say nom pl., gen. sing., and dat. sing.

As for the gender and stuff, I can't remember what the numbers of the declensions are but servus-type are normally masculine, puella-type are normally feminine, tempus type are normally neuter, nox-type are normally feminine, abstract nouns are feminine... there are all sorts of ways you can tell. If you're not sure, look in the dictionary.
