You do know this is your 2nd thread, asking for help on the same question

You have a point (-2,1) and a gradient so use the formula:
y - y1 = m(x - x1) where m is the gradient and x1, y1 are the co-ordinates of your point :smile:

Find the equation of the line through the point (-2,1) parrellel to Y=1/2x -3 I know as its parallel it will have the same gradient, but i'm not too sure how to approach the question.

As it is a straight line, another way of doing it is by using:
y=mx+c

Where you have m, the gradient, and you have y and x from the question.
This gives you c, and then you have the equation of the straight line.
