Re: A69 - Party Names AmendmentWell then lets create a separate thread and bandy some ideas about.(Original post by paddy__power)
Yes but we need some idea, however loose, in order to abandon this course of action - or similar.
Whatever, the point is, not everyone is false in their online presentation...I don't care for this libelous description

Re: A69 - Party Names AmendmentThat's an interesting idea actually. Where parties can debate what they have done etc - people can ask questions etc. This could work. If you write something send it to me and we can work something out on that front irrespective of where this amendment goes.(Original post by paperclip)
One idea might be to put manifestos up for 2/3 days before voting begins for elections, wanna write something up? (Of i can, if you + some others are happy to support it).
Some official debates in GD/D&D during election time could be an idea too
We could have a leadership debate, where one person chairs and responses are PMd to them and then posted clearly so that not everybody starts posting furiously on every question. Or something like that anyway. -
Re: A69 - Party Names AmendmentJust to say, I'd be more than happy for us to change our name as well. However that's a personal view, as is my support of this, as I'm sure there are Centre Party members who don't agree with this amendment.(Original post by Adorno)
Only after. But any way, lest this turn into a chicken before egg contest, the real point here is that such a superficial change as the altering of some names but keeping others isn't likely to do anything. At the moment:
Lib Dem
Labour
Conservative
UKIP
will all have to change, whilst the Socialists, Libertarians, and more annoyingly the Centre Party won't. I say annoyingly because it is one of their number who is pushing this most forcefully with no regard for the kinds of things that I've tried to suggest are also important.
As for without regard, I do have regard for your argument, but I think it's outweighed by the number of voters being misled by RL-links and the desire for the number of seats returned to reflect more what goes on in the House and less RL polls. I applaud your party for being very clear in the manifesto that TSR Labour is very different to the RL leadership, however I disagree strongly that most voters bother to read the manifestos. We have so many comments in the thread that clearly show people have little idea that the TSR HoC is different. But also on not having regard, you dismissed my argument as being political and weak, despite me clearly arguing why I'm for this and that it has nothing to do with political gain - if it was, I'd have voted for it last time when there was even more to gain politically.Last edited by Drogue; 17-09-2010 at 14:07. -
Re: A69 - Party Names AmendmentI do think your position is both of those things but in case you hadn't noticed the debate has moved on from your defence of your own position to other things.(Original post by Drogue)
