What was the last film you watched Mk. II

Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

    The Divide - 5/10

Beginning is like any nuclear attack then hide in bunker cliche, the story line is boring but it gets better later on and exposes the sort of self-interest of people in that scenario. The acting's not the best either.

    Fright Night (1985) 6/10

It was ok, I prefer the remake.

David Tennant as Peter Vincent (in the remake) GENIOUS xxx

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 8.5/10
I could never have anticipated the crazy amounts of LOLs present in this film!

We need to talk about Kevin - 9/10

Tilda's visceral performance as the mother of a psycopathic killer kept me hooked for almost 2 hours. Brilliantly directed as well.

The last film I watched was The Hunger Games. I'd recommend it, but I'd recommend the books even more :yep:

    Do Not Disturb - 7/10
Charming and inoffensive, but Doris Day is my guilty pleasure so I was bound to like it.

The Chinese Connection 7/10 I thought this movie had some pacing issues but the fight scenes were awesome and the end was good.

the assissination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford. 6-7/10, great locations and some decent scenes, but drags and didn't really hook me.

    Broken Arrow - (5/10)

Yeah, it's a bit of a laugh (though it's not meant to be), but ultimately it's ridiculous

    The Chaser - 9/10

What another gem from Korea. Easily accessible to western audiences. The acting, story telling, deep emotion is so expertly done. It's about a serial killer. There's no plot twists or cliched turns in the story, just amazing direction. The blase attitude of police is so well conveyed, it reminded me of The Wire and where they try to convey the real life politics and bull**** in the system. Highly recommend this, but it is a little brutal.

Lars and the Real Girl - 7.5/10

You wouldn't expect a movie about a delusional guy falling in love with a sex doll to work, but it does somehow, in a really charming way

    Pan's Labyrinth - (8.5/10)

Immediate reaction - WTF just happened? :lolwut: . The whole concept is fascinating. The screenplay is awesome. The acting is awesome. The storyline is a little messed up, but I'd put my money on that being the reason why it scores so highly. It's different and that's what people like. I didn't like the torture aspects of the film, but that's only because I don't like blood/guts/injuries, no matter how small . An interesting watch that I'd recommend to everybody, even if you're just watching it for the strange factor :yep:
