Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.lol soooorry, I wasn't thinking while typing. I have the 3G and I bought it in October 2008, so it's just under 2.....years old. Well that's even worse. I want to get the 3GS, but don't know if it's worth it.(Original post by Addzter)
And it's three years old? It only came out last summer.
Well, I'm not sure what to suggest? If it's on contract you could always complain to your network operator and see if they'll help you out, or take it into an Apple Store (they always seem to be helpful).

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.I've had Blackberrys (Blackberries?) for the last 3 years or so, I just got the iPhone 4 today. I did love my BB but fancied a change and I am really happy with the iPhone, so I can totally believe this. Hopefully ill still feel this way in a few months....

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.Ahh right. Well what OS are you on? Because I have a 3G as well and, when I updated to 4.0, it started running really slowly and became really laggy, but they brought out a fix in iOS 4.1 which is meant to speed things up, so I'd update to that if you haven't already. And I'd definitely say the iPhone 3GS is well-worth it and the iPhone 4 much more so, even though it is prohibitively expensive for me right now.(Original post by Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly.)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.Well, I don't know for sure that it is because I don't know where they decided to get their figures for but if they group Nokia together with a bunch of phones, (even as smart phones) some won't be their top range. Basically what you've done is got one phone here and put it against a whole range which are designed to different things.(Original post by Addzter)
Why's it unfair? -

Yeah, the BlackBerrys are great phones for certain things (email, BBM, business, etc) but the iPhone has such better build quality, OS, apps, etc.

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.I don't know; my guess would be that they have just gone to their first smartphone (of course), and even they can tell the difference between the atrocious battery life of their new iPhone and their previous 3310 or whatever(Original post by Addzter)
Well if that's the case and all iPhone owners who responded to this survey are fanboys who who'd never say a bad word against Apple, why did the iPhone's battery life only get a rating of 2/5? Perhaps it's because the iPhone really is an excellent phone in most respects and people are genuinely satisfied with it. -
Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.
I hated the iphones, thought they were vile, bulky gadgets. Saw the ip4 and I actually like it!! So got rid of 02 (was @ end of contract) and got it on Tesco. The only thing that annoys me however is the fact that MMS won't go through (well it won't on my handset, regardless of messing with settings) and I can't bluetooth.
Other than that, quite enjoying the iphone 4 . . .

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.I take your point, but this survey measures consumer satisfaction and even if you buy a cheaper smartphone, you'd still expect it to work well.(Original post by hothedgehog)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.Basically, I want an iphone, the best blackberry and the best nokia and so on to be compared and then I'd be happy at the results.(Original post by Addzter)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.I know i'm wasting my time here, but that is complete rubbish. I like my iPhone because it is simple, fast and intuitive. Basically, everything just works as you want it too. Ok, you could argue the App store is restricted, but i've never found that to be a problem. I don't need loads of porn apps thanks; I already have a dedicated hard drive for that.(Original post by Bunkd)
No I'm saying the only people stupid enough to buy iPhones are the sort of people who will be thoroughly satisfied by their restrictive, hilarious and overpriced phone.
As for "hilarious". What's hilarious is that, until the iPhone came out, the major phone OS's, Win Mob and Symbian weren't developed in a way that put consumers first or contained even a spark of imagination or enjoyment. Apple came in and blitzed the competition, moved the game on, and have continued to innovate while others struggle to catch up. -
Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.Correct, most Apple products are built pretty well. But they're damn overpriced too. There's no "value for money" section, I should imagine the iPhone if viewed objectively would be quite low on that.(Original post by Addzter)

It should be comparing similarly priced phones, not the entire market. Considering the iPhone is one of the most expensive smartphones it's not really a fair comparison.
Umm they've done more than "catch up", I think overtake is the correct word.(Original post by normalothercitrusfruit)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.
Is this even a surprise to anyone? Generally the people that buy iPhone are Apple retards. The phone could fail to have the ability to make calls, and it would still get 5*. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Apple fans are the only fans that like to be dicked around and will happily take it. Apple could turn around and take away half the features of the iPhone make it shinier and you'd still get a line of retards buying it. The unfortunate fact is Apple can do NO WRONG in their customers eyes.
To Blackberry fans : Seriously, BB's are ALL a pile of rubbish when compared to top smart phones. It's their features like contact synchronisation, email encryption and push to email that make them useful. However 80% of the people that buy them are 12 years olds who buy into fads. Strip away BBM and tell me BB would sell.Last edited by yoyo462001; 24-09-2010 at 17:24. -

How did you get 4.1? There's no update coming up for me. I'm definitely going to get a new iPhone (even though I really hate mine atm) but I just find the iPhone 4 really ugly

edit: a 4.1 update just came up!

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year. They're not priced that unfairly, especially in the States where they're around the same price of the flagship smartphones of other companies like Samsung's Galaxy S and the HTC Evo 4G.(Original post by Ewan)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.Absolute BS. Although I will say this: Apple are often slow on adding features that other smartphones already have (good camera, multitasking, etc) but when they do add them, they really do make them good. Also, Apple consistently bring out new products and services that other companies then copy. When the iPhone first came out, a wave of clones followed and many elements of the UI were used in other mobile phones. The App Store is the biggest in the world and has been emulated by many other companies. The iPad revolutionised the tablet computer market despite people saying it would fail and now other companies are rushing to bring out similar devices with similar mobile OS's.(Original post by yoyo462001)

Re: iPhone tops customers satisfaction survey for fourth year.I would disagree, myself. Android is very good, but iOS has slightly more gloss. It seems far more a finished product whereas Android seems more like a product in development. I think that it may well overtake eventually, but atm it's just not quite as good. It's close though. And the app store doesn't bear comparison atm. Yes, it's catching up, but because of the lack of app screening you end up with quite a few buggy, badly-designed apps.(Original post by Ewan)
