Are you getting any particular error?

If you know how to set the wireless settings manually, then it uses WPA2, with AES. Authentication is via PEAP over EAP-MSCHAPv2. It can sometimes help to untick boxes which make the device validate server certificates.

iPhone instructions may be of use: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/is/connect/wireless/iphone.aspx

I cant seem to connect using UoN-secure but the guest one works perfectly.
Entered all the details correctly but the wifi icon never turns on...

Also any significant difference between the secure/guest wifi?

I can connect to the network using my lg android, however I can't actually do anything other than connect to my nottingham email through my email client, all other apps/browser will not seem to connect to the network at all... any advice?

Thanks

Could be a proxy issue. I can only ever access Nottingham Uni pages and Google without the correct proxy information.

Make sure you phone uses http://wwwcache.nottingham.ac.uk/proxy.pac

Also the Wifi is incredibly poor anyway. I often get kicked off in lectures as other people connect.

Can't be done. Full stop.
Android up to version 2.2 has no proxy support, and the 2.3 that was supposed to have been released yesterday isn't any better.

Wait for 3.0 (the "h" release") and maybe you'll have some luck.

In the mean-time, use UON-Guest, although 3G may be faster.
