low end DX10 = worse than mid-range DX9.

but it's too late now.

it won't be playing any games that come out from now on all that well, though.

As I first stated I dont know about this sort of stuff which is why I came to this thread... Seriously though how on earth would you expect me to know that? Its hardly a common sense thing

thanks anyway though... as I said before I dont care on the quality of the graphics I just want it to play the game

It's just that I'm not in UK for the moment, and I've been looking at this PC and it seems good... in 4 months I might get it at a lower price... but just wanted to know if anyone has bought from MEsh

I ordered the computer and its coming on Friday, but people on the phone seemed nice
Hi guys,
i posted in this thread before about getting a laptop gut then i decided to wait untill the new dell range came out.
i am thinking about getting the new inspiron 1520 which specs are:

Vista premium
Jet Black Colour with Matte Finish & Integrated 2.0 mega pixel web camera
15.4" Widescreen WXGA+ (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife™
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR3 dedicated graphic memory

Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-Card - Europe
Cost: £978.24 (but i hope to reduce this by buying the laptop over the phone - any tips on this?)

can anyone tell me if this is a good choice - any things that should be better or i dont need?
i will be using it at university, i will use it quite often for the net, work, music videos and games (mainly football manager).

It's a prebuilt, so it's not likely to come without a case :p:

Intel are cutting the price on the q6600's on july 22nd, I'm going to scoop one up around then. Not sure how much in GBP but they are dropping from around 400 USD to 266 USD.

Right, I posted about a few days back about a computer I ordered. The base unit is fine everything is working and I'm pretty impressed. The thing is though, I've not recieved any drivers at all and no Windows CD. Just recieved a Microsoft Works 8.5 serial number.
What happens if I need to format my system where will I get Vista (Home Premium) from?

You probably have a restore partition on the hard drive, so you don't need the original CD. Although, its a good idea to have a hard copy of the operating system, maybe phone up and ask for the disc, they might charge you for it though. Drivers are easily available off the internet.

Starting to see them about for cheap now, lowest I've seen is £230 from pcbuyit.
that is cheap indeed. my C2D E6600 was £215 when i bought it last october.
I'm getting quite keen on building a new desktop now, my laptop is showing it's age a bit these days. Problem is I only have a budget of around £500 and I'm not too up to date with what's good component-wise. Any thoughts appreciated (with rep too!)
