Temp sounds normal for an Intel chip.

Chow Me in - what do you mean your motherboard doesn't like it?

Motherboard has a minimum CPU fan rpm and I just get a warning when it falls below that is what I meant. I just wondered if it was okay just to set the minimum rpm to say, 500 instead of 600.

Also the fan speed is supposed to be 600-1600 so should I be concerned its going below the 600 mark? I can't see it under load because I need windows 7 and my debit card keeps getting rejected.

I need to get a Microsoft Office suite for Uni.
Software4Students and Microsoft's own student store sell Professional Plus and University versions for £70.

Is it possible to buy these or similar suites for a cheaper price while at uni?

(If it makes a difference), its the Windows versions I'm interested in.
go to google and type in microsoft office 2010 torrent and hey presto their it is, i dont think corporations deserve my money id rather donate it to a useful cause like a charity.

There's an offer for Seagate 3TB HDD for 112 right now on ebuyer. Worth it?
Im on 5.2Tb of space atm and only have like 100gb left over. So most likely ill be ordering another 2TB, and at the current prices i have been trying to hold out for as long as possible.Since they are still about a third higher than when i bought them about 9 months ago.

In regards to is it worth it ,it really depends on the person do you download stuff? like Movies, tv series, software etc...

Your bios gives a warning, I thought the warnings were for temperature.
If it's the case of rpm, you should be able to switch off the warning for rpm.

Fan speed should increase the more stress you put your processor on, it should run on a profile for temp to fan speed.

Why doesn't your mobo like it? That temp is low, mine idles around 45 degrees
If you placed your cpu coolers fan wire into the correct places and not using molex converters.
You would have to enter your bios, and I believe hardware monitor to find the cpu fan.

Don't you also have a utility for your motherboard so you can change things while logged in, where you can make your own defined speed.
You have a problem, especially if you're running Sandybridge. My 2500K idles around 35 degrees at 4.3GHz with no case fans on at all. With case fans it idles around 30 degrees.

You should re-seat your heat sink, that is not right.

Re: Before buying PC please ask our advice first!
Hey guys, I'm currently browsing the market for a new laptop for September, I'm wondering if you can help me out.

I'll be using it for web browsing, word processing, music, movies, video editing and Photoshop work, so I was thinking an i5 processor.
I want to be able to play some games like The Sims 3, Minecraft, some games from Steam, so I think a dedicated graphics card would be good.
Most current laptops come with between 500GB and 1TB of HDD space, and between 4 and 8 gigs of RAM, so I think I'm fine there.
That's all for my preferences really. I'll want something reliable like a Lenovo or close to that standard, for work deadlines.

Cheap as possible please! Not that I don't have a good amount to spend, I think the maximum is £450

Any help guys? It'd be greatly appreciated

Dedicated graphics won't come at £450. You'd need at least £550 afaik.

    Hi again!
Okay I'm going crazy now. I've decided I want to go for an all-in-one pc since I'm not a gamer or video editor, so not really in need of a powerhouse machine. Really liking the ACER Z5771. Problem is that there are so many different versions of this model with differing processor speeds, graphics and RAM; the costs vary quite a bit with respect to these differences. Don't know which one to buy! There is always a possibility of a RAM upgrade though.

My preference would be an i5 with 6GB RAM like this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Touchsc...3056067&sr=8-2. However, cheaper versions just differ on processing speeds (and RAM, but that can be easily upgraded) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Acer-Aspire-Z5771-23-Touchscreen-AIO-PC-I5-2400S-2-5GHz-4GB-1TB-W7HP64-/140795857644?pt=UK_Computing_Des ktopPCs&hash=item20c8164aec. How important are CPU speeds against RAM? O_o.

The amazon one is a fair bit better processor-wise but I'm sure the ebay one would suit your needs - I wouldn't say the amazon one is worth the £200 premium. You shouldn't need more than 4GB RAM realistically, but you should check whether the pc is upgradable RAM-wise.

Make sure to read customer reviews like this:

This is a good PC. My problem is with Acer themselves. No instruction manual provided, and the one available for download is useless. First problem....How do you adjust the stand. Well, I phoned Acer, and frankly they didn't have a clue. GREAT!! If you pull the stand outwards to try and adjust the angle, there is so much resistance, it feels as if it will break away from the back of the PC. Persevere with pulling though, and no thanks to the useless Acer overseas customer service team, it does adjust. The PC pretty much sets itself up, which is good, but then you have to start deleting the bundle of useless trial software installed on it. Honestly, it's like a never ending advertisement for applications you can trial and then buy!! Next, I tried to locate an on/off button for the screen - there isn't one - and you have to use the Shut Down menu Sleep option to do this. Thats OK I suppose, but a dedicated switch would have been handy. The integrated speakers are poor, so unless you want to hear your music/DVDs in rather tinny sound you should invest in some decent external speakers. Resist the temptation of buying from the well known High Street sellers, because if you need tech support, you will quickly find out that their KnowHow Team KNOWS NOTHING. Good screen, with so-so touch response, and if you are going for an i5 processor then please make sure you get at least 4 (or preferably 6-8gb if you are a gamer) of RAM. You will need this to fully utilise the speed - and it is fast! I shopped around and picked up my refurbished Z5771 for £420 from an Amazon Marketplace seller. I've upgraded from 3 to 6GB RAM for £35, and now have a fantastic home media centre for a bargain price. If you are tech minded you won't have any problems setting this machine up, but some are likely to need help. If Acer had bothered to include a comprehensive user manual I would have happily given this another star. So, perhaps they should wake up to the fact that not everybody is a computer geek and include one. Training their staff to answer basic questions about their products might also help!. Final word, before buying this I checked out the model with Digital TV Tuner. Don't waste your money, because unless you can plug in a co-ax TV aerial with a very good Digital signal, it's not great.

It's Acer, bottom of the table in terms of reliability in the current market, also that GT610 is just better than integrated graphics.

Yeah, I'm aware of their problems with reliability, I'll be sure to get some sort of warranty or insurance. I can't find a higher spec one for about £450 though.

to be fair the only spec you can't get is a dedicated graphics card with Intel..............GT610M is weakest in that GT6xx series, so you should have a look on youtube to see the games you wanna play are playable.
