Re: Before buying PC please ask our advice first!
Hello,
I've had a laptop for a few years, looking to build a PC (for the customisation advantages) to take to uni and use for school work in future.
I'd want to spent around £400 with a max of say around £500. I've had a look around some different websites etc., and know that I'm probably going to want 3 processors, I don't need that much memory space so around 500GB, and RAM I want a lot, so maybe 8. Windows 7 as an operating system, apart from that I'm happy. Could anyone recommend me some parts that would come under the price of £500? Thanks. -

I imagine you meant 3 cores
Will you be gaming at all? If so, to what extent?

Re: Before buying PC please ask our advice first! What's your processor now?(Original post by Aristotle's' Disciple)
I can get a used i5-3570k for £135, it's still in warranty and has been used for a month, should I go for it? -

Re: Before buying PC please ask our advice first!Assuming the processor wasn't damaged in some way, it should similar to new. But it's risky — you don't know what's happen to it (it's strange that it'd only be used for a month!). Although seeing as it's under warranty, I guess it could always be replaced.(Original post by Aristotle's' Disciple)

Re: Before buying PC please ask our advice first!Yeah, I've decided to get it, he says it's because he got the 3770k, he's got the receipt and the store warranty and the intel warranty so I think it'll be allright, it was bought off yoyotech.(Original post by The Assassin)
